The system that allowed slavery is OUR system, the creation of our idiot founders.
Except for Brazil, we were the very last Western civilization to still have it.
Our reputation as a regressive nation remains steadfast.

Europe has pretty much recovered from World War II.
It's current fascist trends are not an extension of it but something new, largely caused by an influx of Middle Easterners who are not assimilating well.

The effects of slavery in the US will be permanent, because a huge percentage of the slave descendants--certainly not all but a huge percentage--seek non-assimilation with the creation of hip hop black culture.
That is entirely the fault of the premature ending of reconstruction and Jim Crow following slavery.

I could agree on an individual basis.....but for a civilization that is supposed to have advanced, an atrocity a hundred years ago is worse than an atrocity a thousand years ago......and an atrocity today is worse than an atrocity a hundred years ago.......

thus, a slave owner and a concentration camp guard are equally evil......but for a civilization to permit slavery in the 1800s is not as bad as permitting a Holocaust in the 1900s and that is not as bad as permitting abortions in the 2000s.......

Human civilizations are generally not advancing at this point in history.
At least for now, they're regressing.

We're either in another dark age, or we're beginning our extinction process. I'm not sure which.
Somebody else's problem at this point.

WE can talk about abortion, and you MIGHT have a point, but given your track record you are leaving out an important issue. Making specific laws and actually killing, whipping and enslaving are two different things.

You are the one who supports honoring the South and its Civil War flag in the name of heritage. You are the one demanding statutes of people who fought to keep slavery continued to be honored. You are the one who wants the flag of the Pro-Slavery army be flown at Capital Buildings.

I do?......I didn't even know I had an opinion on that........I'm from Michigan.......I don't need to "honor" any flags or statues......I do think its stupid to tell people which history they are allowed to remember, though......maybe you can go back and find a post of mine where I did what you claim......I do recall a thread I started about a statue here in my county.....it had a confederate soldier and a union soldier standing back to back......in between them was a small black child......the point of the statue was the innocent trapped between them.......lib'ruls were demanding it be torn down........it struck me that the demand was incredibly ignorant given the intent of the artist........do you agree?......by the way the county decided to leave it.......it was vandalized and wrecked.....

isn't making laws saying its okay to kill, whip or enslave actually worse than killing, whipping or enslaving?........you're stamping it with a government certificate of "normalcy".......
