Rock Chalk!ROLL TIDE!!!!
I’ve enjoyed a couple Apple Cup games in Pullman through the years. There’s even a few moments I remember!I'm watching The Apple Cup right now. It's the cross-state rivalry between the UW and WA State. Huskies are favored to win - it's being played in Pullman - may the best team win!

Yes, when I was a pup the drinking age right across the border in Moscow was 19. When we had away rugby games with WSU we'd head across the border - pullman is like 30 min away - and we'd get toasted!I’ve enjoyed a couple Apple Cup games in Pullman through the years. Hey, Winter Born

I’m great, hoping the same for you.Hey Phantasmal! How ya doin?
I’m great, hoping the same for you.
Lots of hazards on the Moscow-Pullman highway in those days. We did the same between Indiana and Michigan in the dayYes, when I was a pup the drinking age right across the border in Moscow was 19. I have a good buddy who grew up in Gig Harbor. He ended up going to UW, so of course he hates Wazzu. But he really hates Spokane and Gonzaga as well. Any idea if that's just a personal thing? Or do people in the orbit of Seattle just not like that eastern part of the state?Lots of hazards on the Moscow-Pullman highway in those days. We did the same between Indiana and Michigan in the day
It’s no doubt an intra state thing. Hard to see why UW people would hate Wazzu since they kick WSU’s ass every year. Not much of a rivalry.I have a good buddy who grew up in Gig Harbor. Is it because Boise's a college town, and by Idaho standards more liberal? Or something else? It’s no doubt an intra state thing. Hard to see why UW people would hate Wazzu since they kick WSU’s ass every year. Not much of a rivalry.
The Gonzaga thing is different, with their dominant basketball thing.
The east-west Washington thing must be a lot like the north-south Idaho thing. Just as Eastern Washington is a different culture than the Seattle area, the same goes for northern Idaho. I’m from
Boise in SW Idaho but lived up north in Coeur d’Alene for a couple years. In Boise, people don’t give other areas of the state much thought, really. But, up north, there’s a distinct disdain and hatred for southern Idaho, especially Boise.
Boise is the seat of government and the Northern Idaho mentality is greatly anti-government. That’s where the neo-Nazis and separatists hang out. Plus, there is the sheer distance. Boise to the north border is over 500 miles. Just like California, it is literally two different worlds. Kinda like Redding is to LAIs it because Boise's a college town, and by Idaho standards more liberal? Or something else?
It's interesting the rivalry between SF (Northern California) and LA (Southern California). Same state, same politics but almost feels like two different worlds.
