I guarantee you Marine snipers use bipods.

Sweet gun porn!
I've never had a gun that's been accurate enough for anything beyond about 300. The Barrett 98 is specialized for long range shooting. It's accurate out to a mile for a man-sized target. I'm sure I could compete with it after a few years of practice and a few grand in bullets.
If you're going to invest that much time and effort, then you'd be better suited by a custom rifle. Of course feel free to support Ronnie Barret. He's the man.
What custom would you recommend? What build?
It's too high, but I figure it's an investment. And I thought it balanced very well actually, I think I could have shot it one handed (though not with any modicum of accuracy).
McMillan would be where I go for extreme range customs. They have a lot of experience in that area, and last I checked it's the most popular build for FCSA competition.

It balanced very well. It just felt odd to me. I am so used to muzzle heavy rifles.
McMillan is getting into serious gun porn. They build some beauties! I have looked at their hunting rifles and drooled.
I thought you were saying it was rear heavy, a problem encountered on the AUG family of rifles. I agree, it takes some getting used to at first. But it's too much fun and, honestly, looks too cool to pass up.
It felt odd, but was not unwieldy or anything. I never fired an AUG, but I do like the bullpup design for a combat weapon. The FS2000 is accurate too. I was able to ring the gong repeatedly after a few rounds.
Sure we did. It's called a 'loop sling'.

I like the idea of a bullpup, but the sloppy trigger is what puts me off to them for serious work. I've been tinkering with a new trigger setup that would eliminate that problem, and if it works out well, it'll be easy to produce. We'd finally have an accurate (as compared to the semi auto standard, the AR-15), affordable, bullpup.
that wasn't cheating, it never touched the ground.
not in the field we didn't. it interfered with barrel concealment.
that wasn't cheating, it never touched the ground.
I have a Bushmaster that is as accurate as anything I have fired in a semi-auto. Its as accurate as many bolt actions I have owned. But the 24" bbl doesn't do much for making it a handy sorta gun.
