New Polling Shows Support Growing for Legal Abortion

you know......I actually don't give a fuck if it keeps us from getting elected in some states.......those states are already fucked up and will die off from incompetence.......the majority of Americans who live there and vote for stupid things lib'ruls want will eventually be fenced in and seperated from civilization.......

Here's an idea. Why don't you and Right wingers who feel as you do help Red states do even better in their leading obesity rates, their leading low education rates and at the same proudly refuse the help of federal tax revenues they get every year from those "fucked up" blue states with their better health, better education, better incomes, states where the people with talent move to if they're not already there.

Sure it is, you want to deny women the right to have any say over their own bodies, and you want to employ the power of the Government to enforce your values, you are deny them their freedom and using the Government to do it

you must mean the child's body.......the one you want to employ the power of the government to destroy to enforce YOUR values, you want to kill them and use the government to do it.....

No, and as many arguments you can post to support that claim can be ping ponged with others that disagree, and personally, I oppose abortion on religious grounds, however, as the Founders recommended, we are not a theocracy, religion and government should be separated, one can not impose their religious views on others via the government

we are also not founded to be an ignorant nation, yet you base your argument on the claim that the unborn are not living human beings, something that science says is not true......you should not impose lib'rul ignorance on others via the government.......

There ARE Republicans who realize that they're on the wrong side of this issue. I think even Trump said something earlier this year.

There really isn't any debate anymore. Most Americans want it legal and available, at least for a certain period of time. The longer hardcore "pro lifers" (using that term very loosely) try to make it illegal, the more elections the GOP will lose.

It's that simple.

except that you fuckwits are the ones wrong on this issue......move to a state run by people who are wrong on all the issues and leave the sane world alone......

In Texas, they not only killed abortion but made criminals out of people who drove a female across state lines or helped finance them. If a girl had a miscarriage, she would be scrutinized in the most invasive way possible. In the antithesis of our judicial system, she would have to prove she did not self-abort. Some women will be jailed for not being able to prove it sufficiently. They even put a bounty on people who helped a girl out of her predicament. That too will result in citizens fighting false charges and sometimes losing them too.
These are the most intrusive laws in out history.

killing an unborn child sort of intrudes on them as completely as possible.......

you are ignorant about biological science AND politics......places run by lib'ruls NEVER have better schools......they have higher wages because businesses have to pay higher wages to induce people to work there, don't even pretend that the inner city of Chicago has a higher standard of living than any place run by Republicans.........you want to talk about refusing the help of federal tax revenues, let's discuss that half of Americans pay NO federal tax revenues and everyone know who that half vote for........

It's nationwide, my dear. That is why you are losing in what were traditional red states, like GA and AZ. Look what happened in MI. Its not just blue states.

You are correct.

One year after the Supreme Court's Dobbs decision, which overturned the guaranteed right to an abortion, it remains unpopular.

The latest NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll found:

57% oppose the decision, including 6 in 10 independents and about a quarter of Republicans.

It also found that some key swing groups were also opposed, including:

66% of women who live in small cities and suburbs, and
63% of independent women.

Abortion rights proved to be a motivating issue that helped Democrats in last year's midterms. We are now in the first presidential election cycle since Dobbs, and the issue puts Republicans in a difficult spot.

Two-thirds of Republican voters support the decision, so the candidates in the primary are trying to get to each other's right on the issue. But that is going to pose a major risk in not just the general election for the presidential contest, but also in congressional races. And Democrats are all too eager to use the issue against their GOP opponents in swing districts.

Indeed.

Yeah, education in red states is so good only two percent of high school graduates in Alabama take SAT's; in Mississippi one percent...the great majority of better universities, including all the Ivies, are in blue states...life expectancy is higher in blue states...but if you want to give one, if not exactly a "state", to red states on wages, there is always "the inner city of Chicago"... Especially like the bold faced part of the quote. I mean why would people want to live in a blue state if they could move to a red state and die sooner. All of the lower life expectancy states are red states, clustered mainly in what was The Confederacy.

With political peril for Republicans.

"In the year since, polling shows that what had been considered stable ground has begun to shift: For the first time, a majority of Americans say abortion is “morally acceptable.” A majority now believes abortion laws are too strict. They are significantly more likely to identify, in the language of polls, as “pro-choice” over “pro-life,” for the first time in two decades.

And more voters than ever say they will vote only for a candidate who shares their views on abortion, with a twist: While Republicans and those identifying as “pro-life” have historically been most likely to see abortion as a litmus test, now they are less motivated by it, while Democrats and those identifying as 'pro-choice' are far more so...."

Which is why Red states are suppressing the vote.

That article is wrong

Most voters are not single issue voters and if they were the amount that consider abortion as their top issue would be practically zero

This is the crap you get from readers the times
You are delusional.

Many voters are not single issue voters, but when one party continues to deprive voters of their rights, that issue is enough to decide an election.

I guess you missed the failed Red wave in '22?
