New signs of dementia...

I don't though. I do hate his policies but the man, not even a little bit. If I had strong evidence that his brain functioned like I do for his dementia I wouldn't be here telling folks that they need to stop abusing this dementia patient and begin working on getting someone whose brain actually functions and which doesn't write them false memories to repeat constantly.

Here is Trump speaking.
I see nothing like this from B\iden. r But rightys can self delude like no others. Biden is fine.

I've told you, and everyone here, that I am not voting for Trump. So you are babbling like Biden incoherently trying to tell a story where his wife is both dead in a house fire with his cat and car and a Doctor in order to protect a man who each day provides more evidence that he is in the throes of dementia by pretending that I am for someone else.

Trump has nothing to do with Biden's signs of dementia. Saying "he has it too" is not a defense, it is a frickin' confession, man.

While I don't believe Biden has dementia - I also feel that he should not be the nominee in '24.

I think he has done a decent job, considering pretty terrible circumstances when he took office. But we need a transcendent leader right now. Someone who can start w/ a fresh slate, and inspire us all to be better & less hateful/divisive.

Why lie for Trump, then?

Biden will be the nominee.

Just last year at Christmas, at my Mother in law's house, I sat next to a lovely lady that I've known for years. This lovely lady got lost on her way over to her house, a house she's been to at least 5 times in the preceding two months as she is a good friend and a frequent visitor to my MIL. My BIL had to go and get her and his wife drove her car to my MIL's house.

As we sat down to dinner this lovely lady, who has deepening dementia, regaled me with a story. Then just minutes later with the same story. Then later in the evening she told me that same story. I listened raptly each time and exclaimed and "uh-huh'd" at all the right times.

My MIL notes that this lovely lady has some personality shifts, she gets angry easily, yells at folks... Such a shame. I may not see her again, probably won't really as she's since been put into a home.

This story is to put this into context:

I do not believe pResident Biden is capable of running his food schedule let alone this nation. He gets angry and yells at staff one of the users here used this one as a way to supposedly "prove" he didn't have dementia but anger issues is a sign of dementia, he has false memory issues repeatedly telling stories that we know to be untrue, sometimes even days apart, and now we see that cannot even remember he's regaled us with the same story he's telling just minutes after.

While I hope they wait until it is too late for the Dems to replace him effectively on the ticket before they try to make this right, I do hope they eventually do the right thing. This isn't an age issue, this man is showing serious signs of a deepening dementia. Shoot, my uncle suffered from this much younger than Biden. Illness is not age. Biden wakes up somewhere around 10 and puts a lid on it at noon, takes weeks of vacation to prepare for a 5 question scripted "presser" that he still messes up with fictional memories.

All this makes me wonder who really is running this mess? Because evidence seems to show that it can't be Joseph R. Biden Jr., each day we seem to have more evidence that he just doesn't have the wit left to do that.

I thought this OP was going to be about trump thinking he's running against Biden and accusing Biden of starting WWII.

When campaigning, politicians repeat the same story over and over again. I guess all politicians are senile.

President Biden surrounds himself with many brilliant, experienced advisors who he consults with on a daily basis.

Trump relies on his 'gut'.

I rest my case.

And that's just it. Part of good leadership is making sure the people around you know what they're doing and won't be "yes-men".

trump appointed his family and idiots - people not qualified in the least to critical positions. Obama and Biden didn't do that.

What makes you think Trump is any different? He’s 78, one burger short of three hundred, and has a history of gaffes and miscues, so how is he any different?

trump's not a democrat. One thing I've learned participating in this forum, even with reasonable people I disagree with - when it comes to right-leaning people, it's "Democrat bad" - period. There's no reasoning with them.

At this rate they'll be too late to effectively have a solid candidate who has been vetted, they will have no ability to run a caucus or primary because the DNC has crowned their "nominee" and have even informed state committees that they will be disqualified from the convention if they hold a primary... this will mean they will just "select" someone, this will not resonate well, especially if they try to bring on Newsom (White men only need apply you know) who has failed California so badly that they are losing population at a rate that drops their electoral impact each census.
Agreed but I think they may parachute Michelle in at the last moment.

Indeed they would rather have a coronation than a primary election. These people that think they have a voice in who the Democrat nominee will be are deluding themselves.

Biden has no signs of dementia. When you speak in public nearly every day, you will make mistakes. In our world, you can play with audio and make it mean something different. I hear him speak often and he talks in complete sentences with an adult vocabulary. You are looking for something to back up your premise. He spoke for a long time at the UN. Did you hear that?

Is Biden the bib drooling idiot the right wing wonks portray/allude to?

Nope. But ....

Biden is showing signs that age & stress are taking their toll on his mental acuity. I didn't vote for him in 2020 because of part of his history in the Senate. I sure as hell won't vote for him now because he's just too old to handle another 4 years effectively.

And I sure as hell don't want Harris anywhere near the Presidential chair for another 4 years. We don't need a version of Reagan's last term in office.

At the same time, Lord knows that putting Cheeto Jeezus back in the White House would put ALL the doom and gloom scenario's on the table.

It's going to be a hot mess, folks. Because IMHO, neither party has the stones to remove/replace the current headliners. But hope springs eternal.

Yeah, that's what it was like talking to this lady, and apparently Joseph Robinette Biden Jr.. The same story, repeated. And they don't realize it... That's dementia. Now if he remembered it in some fictional fashion (like he thought he met her before she was born) it would be yet a different one, but still would be a sign of dementia. Biden loves telling a fictional story about how he spoke with a train conductor that was dead for years before the conversation could have happened, he never met the guy unless he was Haley Joel Osment's character in The Sixth Sense (he can't be, he's too busy being the main character in the combined new film that takes 50 First Dates and Weekend at Bernie's and makes a fusion called "50 First Weekends at Brandon's")... He's repeated this same fictional event more than once because his brain is giving him false memories, like the one he's repeated about "losing his son in Iraq", fiction but repeated anyway...

That isn't stuttering.

it happens.......I have interesting stories I've like to talk about when I'm in conversations if a topic triggers a memory........one I've repeated dozens of times includes the fact that my father lived to 95 and my mom to 92......just last week I said it in front of my wife and she says 'you realize your mom was also 95 when she died, right?'.......I hadn't and I've told dozens of people it was 92.....

Joe won't be running.... this way he can just continue vacationing and they can watch him very carefully... he needs to focus on his health and his family...
