NFL Playoffs

noting personal against him. He was a rookie. the 49ers were put in a bad spot losing the first 2 qb's they went into the year with. The only thing personal is how idiots that don't watch much football were trying to treat him like the next Montana and blow smoke up my ass
You're clearly too young to remember Brady stepping up in his first Super Bowl when he was still riding the pine.

Dallas Cowboys - but pro sports are not a real passion anymore - it is very hard to respect the athletes today

like how Kelce acted for the chiefs after winning - I'm sick of seeing this punks show their asses all the time
LOL.
And there it is

SO much butthurt.

when Pollard went down - Dallas became limited at skill positions on offense.

Dak is not a top tier qb, but he does run a more complex offense than what Purdy was being asked to run.
Brady was always an 'also ran' on the Sundays when his O line gave him no protection.

It's a team game

Life long Cowboys fan here as well. I actually DESPISE the modern NFL in many ways. Way too many morons in todays NFL. The game has been so downgraded in so many ways. Can be very hard to watch at times. Dak? Im done with him. If I could trade him even up for Purdy I would do it in a minute. Dak is and always has been a high floor low ceiling guy IMO.
Romo was the same.

The opposing QB did not get injured falling off the bus. The SF offensive line couldn't protect him.

Also, the vaunted SF defense got 31 points hung on them. Even if Purdy had not gotten hurt, he was ineffective because he was running for his life in the backfield.
Defense gets worn out after so many 3 and outs in a row

Except for balls and strikes, which should be done electronically, MLB umpiring is amazing good.

The NFL officials, in comparison, despite a huge number of them all over the field, are absolutely horrific.
I mean they might as well have canes and dogs with them out on the field.

PLUS, the idiots on the NFL Competition Committee write rules in the most ridiculous ways.
Everything they can do to make the calls harder for their generally lousy officials, that's how they word the rules.

Now that the Patriots glory era is over, I can come right out and say it.
I think that the NFL genuinely sucks. They make massive money, I'll give them that, but artistically, they're the drizzling shits, especially if you like
logic.

The game would have been much the same whether the pass to Devonta was ruled a catch or not. The Eagles defensive line was in the SF backfield the entire game.

I was responding to your comment about the Eagles scoring 31 on the Niners D.

No one denies the Eagles have an excellent defense, especially not me. But it's not that hard to get into a teams backfield when you know the QB can't pass. You could put me at Defensive Coordinator and I could have told them to crowd the line because they can't throw the ball.

That they do. That is where depth comes into play.

But then, QBs get worn out being sacked too many times.

Purdy got hit on the sixth offensive play of the game. This wasn't a matter of him being hit too many times. QB's get hit and sacked all the time and don't tear their UCL. It's football, things like this happen. But the repeated 3 and outs and realization that the offense wasn't going to be able to score (because we didn't have a QB) kind of put the Niners D in a different mode.

I can guarantee that the play you are hung up on will not even make ESPN's analysis.

BREAKING: Kansas City Cheats are signing @NFLOfficiating to a 10 year/$800M contract.

Texted with my buddy today who pitched for years in the Majors (and is an Eagles fan). He tore his UCL during his playing days (same injury Purdy has) and had to have Tommy John surgery. He said he knew Purdy did same thing the minute he saw the replay. What a bummer.

Man I hate to see that. I read an article earlier today talking about it. Out at least 6 months. Like I said, even though he plays for San Francisco he’s an easy one to root for. ;)

Lot's of talk about who the greatest QB is. I really don't get into to those farting contests, but I know a good quarterback when I see one.

Some people use NFL QB rankings, and some people measure it by the number of Championship titles, and some people measure it by Superbowl Rings!

It's awfully hard to compete in the NFL today without having a QB capable of running. So QB size is an attribute that is more popular today. Even Height is a key attribute, as a QB has to see over his and their linemen who average 6'2" throughout the league. Having Speed is essential, so they better be fast when they are running for their lives to reach that 1st down marker on the sidelines.

Since Mahomes has come onto the scene, I've noticed that QB's are following his lead, and developing side-arm throws to connect on those little quick & outs and slants etc.
So QB's today have to use a little finesse in their game to be able to compete.

And one very handy attribute they should all possess, is having the capability to throw the ball downfield accurately on long & outs and fades, corner routes etc.

The NFL today, has one of these type QB's, on just about every team in the league, that have most, if not all, of these attributes.

Trying to decide which one of them is the best, is like trying to determine who the prettiest girl in the world is, or who the best guitarist in the world is.

Some may have more NFL experience, or even more NFL playoff experience specifically, and some may be more injury prone, and some may even have better vision than others, some are better at using the clock, and all these things factor in, but for me, IT IS JUST DAMN DIFFICULT TO SAY WHO THE BEST IS, OR EVEN WHO THE GOAT IS TODAY!

But, l will say this, this new style of QB that is playing today, has improved the game and made it a more enjoyable experience to just watch!

And watching two of today's very best QB's competing in this years Superbowl is going to be really fun, and I'm looking forward to watching it.
