No One Is Above the Law, Except, Apparently, Donald Trump

On Monday, the day the money was due, a New York appeals court said that it would accept a far smaller bond of $175 million.

Although Trump is entitled to an appeal, which he is pursuing, it still feels outrageous that he would get this unexplained courtesy after years of willfully defrauding the public. At the same time, it feels typical of Trump’s relationship to the various institutions of American life. If there seems to be a different set of rules for Trump, under which there is always a reason to look the other way or give him a second chance, that’s because for all intents and purposes, there is.

Given that Bernie Madoff, bilked thousands of people out of billions of dollars in his Ponzi scheme and got a bail of $10 million that was later reduced, I'd say even $175 million in bail is completely ridiculous.

Scam Bank Fraud Man (Sam Bankman-Freid) who's cryptocurrency scam bilked billions from investors got a bail of $250 million. Again, a half-a-billion bail for not having taken even one dollar and no identifiable victim(s) in Trump's case is outrageous.

Even Michael Milken's (the "Junk Bond King") bond for having bilked billions out of customers--and he got 6 felony convictions and 10 years in prison--was about $570 million in today's money.

But Trump? A judge that has used song lyrics to justify judgements in the past--Yep, he likes to use Pink Floyd among others--smacks Trump with a half-a-billion judgement after admitting himself there was no loss or victim(s)... Yea, sure...

You still think Jan. 6 was a peaceful tour.

If you helped Trump try to overturn the results of the previous election, up to and including the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, then there’s a good chance you’ve had to face your day in court. One of Trump’s lawyers, Rudy Giuliani, was ordered to pay nearly $150 million in damages relating to efforts to subvert the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.

So far, however, Trump has gotten away scot free.

In recent months, Donald Trump has been trying out a new routine. At rallies and town halls across the country, he compares himself to Al Capone. “He was seriously tough, right?” Mr. Trump told a rally in Iowa in October, in an early rendition of the act. But “he was only indicted one time; I’ve been indicted four times.” (Capone was, in fact, indicted at least six times.)

The absolute brightest part of any day is when Donald Trump shits in your Wheaties AGAIN. Jesus, between you, jerod, and Mr. Tiny Penis, the US supply of anti depressants will be diminished to a point where there will not be enough for the rest of the malcontent lefties running loose on this forum.

so shit stains find the original amount was lawful, but the new amount is unlawful?

in other words.....DERP

Way to change the subject! Guess you can't defend Letitia James' and that 'tard of a judge, Engoron's asinine upending of the US justice system into a perversion of Turd World Stalinist show trial with Pink Floyd lyrics...

Engoron frequently peppers his rulings with song lyrics, movie quotes and the occasional New York City history lesson. He’s quoted Bob Dylan and Shakespeare and movies like “City Slickers” and the Marx Brothers classic “Duck Soup.” He signs them with a logo of sorts, his initials, AE, drawn together in a circle.

Finally, in his Sept. 26 decision, Engoron said the defendants were living in a "fantasy world" by claiming documents overvaluing Trump's assets could be ignored.
The judge quoted a character played by Chico Marx in the Marx Brothers' 1933 comedy "Duck Soup" as saying, "Well, who ya gonna believe, me or your own eyes?"

Trump is more innocent than Jesus.

Trump is begging for immunity. That is because he needs it. He knows what his crimes were. Somehow, his followers are blind to his criminal transgressions. But he knows the truth.
