Nothing Sadder than Average American Workers Parroting the Propaganda of Oligarchy

excessive merger and aquisiton do run counter to the overtly stated benefits of capitalism.

Define what you mean by "excessive merger and acquisition" and provide examples of it. ;)

What I do know is this; corporations and companies are only as relevant as their consumers make them. If consumers stop buying their products and services, they go out of business. No one can force you to use them. Government oligarchy is far more dangerous and leads to dictatorships like we see in Venezuela and Cuba. You do not have any choice and they continue regardless of a profit motive as long as they can forcefully extract taxes from the citizens.

So tell me; what was more dangerous, corporations, or government apparatchiks?

no.

when corporations combine that's one less competitor to compete for dollars. lower prices for consumers is a stated benefit of calitalism.

its very simple.

do you believe in monopoly and cartel busting?

no.

So where are your examples? We do have regulations for monopolistic efforts. Does it prevent other companies from entering markets and competing?

its very simple.

Only for simple minds. In truth, your example is simplistic and you haven't backed it up with any evidence that it is real.

do you believe in monopoly and cartel busting?

Don't we have anti-Monopolistic and cartel busting laws?

I am not. So there is that to consider.
We do not have capitalism.

We do have capitalism. It's just not the free market ideal.

Nearly every major economy is a mixed market capitalism. And because of corporate law, we see the oligarchic shenanigans you mentioned earlier in the thread.

In short, government is the root of the problem, not business.

are not big oligarchs behind government?

is everyone a neocon now?

They are currently, but they only were able to do so because of the existence of corporations. Before such a legal institution existed, it was easier to hold businesses accountable.

The corporate veil shields corporate ownership from the liabilities that an individual would normally have. We can even see this in how the law treats sole proprietors vs. corporations. Sole proprietors are much more liable than the board of a corporation.

I agree with elimination of the corporate veil. there is no government without oligarchs. a state seal versus a corporate seal is really no different.

and even without corporate veil there can be oligarchs.

I can agree with that. Every system has elites, just like every system (outside of a few primitive tribes) has rich and poor.

The most humorous aspect to all this is that the systems with the most corrupt and powerful elites are usually either socialist or Communist.
