To bust companies that want to control the markets and charge whatever they want. They eliminate competition and stifle innovation and service. They are anti-capitalism. Teddy Roosevelt was a very rich man who was the "trust buster" because he wants to save capitalism.
A little at a time, the corporations chewed on the trust laws and neutered them. They are in charge now and you do not realize they did it to take your money and power.
