Number of federal workers earning six-figure salaries has exploded during recession

I am very suspicious of the numbers in this article

I'm still curious about this one Desh. Usually your beliefs are pretty transparent. This one I'm having trouble with. You don't think federal workers make as much money as the article claims? Or are you having problems justifying how federal workers make so much more money than people in the private sector because that goes against what you previously believed?

USA did the numbers themselves.

I want to see their work and another acessment of the numbers

What is your problem with the numbers? Why are you questioning it? I know something with the numbers doesn't fit into your world view.

So even though 'the monied interest' i.e. Wall Street gave more money to Obama than McCain it is your belief that Republicans represent the monied interest and Democrats work against the monied interest?

Look at their basic platforms and then tell me which one you think the corps like better?

They always give to both parties to hedge their bets.

Your parties platform is in line with the corps position.

ITS A FACT.

The dems are much easier to spot when they get bought.

sheep:palm:

Because they are the opposite of the government numbers

and the government numbers say what? Like I said I can usually tell the point you are trying to make, this one i can't. Is it you don't believe the difference between what federal government workers make and the private sector?

USA TODAY analyzed the Office of Personnel Management's database that tracks salaries of more than 2 million federal workers. Excluded from OPM's data: the White House, Congress, the Postal Service, intelligence agencies and uniformed military personnel.

The growth in six-figure salaries has pushed the average federal worker's pay to $71,206, compared with $40,331 in the private sector.

Are you getting confused when the lady says comparable government jobs pay less than their private sector counterparts yet the average federal workers salary is higher than a private sector workers?

Break it down for me

The article doesn't really make it clear. My interpretation is that there are far more low paying jobs in the private sector that are not available in the federal government so that while it is possible to have comparable federal jobs pay less than their private sector counterparts because there are so many low paying private sector jobs it brings the overall private sector average down below the federal average.
