I honestly forgot about Johnson, but what about Senators such as Hagel that are now against the war? I would have to look each one up to be sure, but I don't think the 39 have all been straight party line defeats.
You're right. There are a select few Republicans that vote with the Democrats. I was simply responding to your snarky post about the so-called Democratic majority.
But then there is the bigger issue of Republican filibusters of Iraq War bills and amendments, effectively requiring a 60 vote super-majority on most Iraq War legislation.
Look up some of the articles and see what the whip count was on some of these bills. Take the Webb Amendment, it had majority support but not enough to get past a filibuster. Same for many others.
