It was another "tell", as I just described to SF. It's not the 1st time in this crisis that your first reaction to something that is clearly positive was to try to spin it as a negative.

I honestly don't see rightwingers spinning at all on this thread, or trying to downplay the significance of extracting billions of dollars from BP.


As with the blather on "natural seepage", I don't think they aren't downplaying the significance at all. I think they are just innocently offering information and benign clarification.

It does NOTHING to clean up the spill. It provides about $15k per person (assuming 10% of those who live on coast work in affected industries)... which is great for the short term. But what happens if this spill continues for another 4 months?
