Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize

Why should he have declined it? I do agree that it is the committee who deserves the mockery, but Obama has made himself larger than life with his jetting off to Denmark to "campaign" for the Olympics, hitting every talk show on the circuit to yuck it up and entertain softball questions. Now without any real merit he is awarded the high profile NPP~~~ So at home he is getting mocked due the whole enchalada, the capstone so to speak.

Obama's task is unique. Never before has the US been so badly damaged as a result of eight years of disastrous management as it is now. Obama's job, I would think, is beyond most men and it would not surprise me in the slightest to see him fail on some of his ambitions.
Failure will not be because of anything he does wrong but because the task before him is almost insurmountable.
Those who supported and encouraged bush should, for the sake of the US and its relationship with the rest of the world, keep thier mouths shut and realise their mistakes.

You and Obama both agree that those who don't agree with him should keep their mouths shut. Americans gave Obama about as much power as a President can have with his own party having large advantage in the House and 60 seats in the Senate. It doesn't really matter what those who don't agree with him say. He has all the power he needs without them. After awhile he has to do something with it.

I will agree with that. He's had a tough job. And like we said a few times already, this isn't his fault. And realisticly, he can't decline the award, but what I would have suggested he do was ask them to reconsider a more deserving figure. Who knows? I can't fault him for accepting it. But all I've been saying all along was the folks making the picks are wacky. Or they're irresponsibly political in their selections, in my biased opinion.

What a bunch of poppycock! The task before him is "almost insurmountable"? BS! There are formulas for reducing deficits that he HAS NOT used. He has done nothing to change course from what Bush put in motion with regards to the WOT. In fact renditions are up; Gitmo is still operational; troops that Bush had planned for reduction are coming home....Oh wait, Obama has sent more troops to Afghanistan and he has increased drone warfare into Pakistan~~~If Obama fails it IS Obama's failure NOT Bush's. As to keeping mouths shut, yours should go first.

deficits are the least of your nation's problems. That you appear unable to see past them shows your total naivety.
I think you mean Guantanamo Bay, don't you? Or are you scared to face up to the illegality and shame of calling by its undisneyfied name?
I alays thought, by your rank stupidity and shallowness, that you were blind to the obscenity of bush. You haven't changed.
As we would say of someone like you: She's as thick as pig shit and worse to look at.

That's not true and your putting words in his mouth. He merely stated a fact. This nation is in incredibly deeps shit because of the ineptitude and incompetence of the Bush administration and those who supported him have no credibility when they criticize Obama as the supported the worst US President since Warren G. Harding who got us into the deep shit hole, in the first place, that Obama is struggling to get us out of.

That's quite simply the truth, so what's wrong with what Lo said?

Whatever makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, belme.

The world sees a person in the White House who even with a whisper of wind, will bend to keep his face in front of the camera and thus do their bidding.

The squeeze is on.
Still not willing to admit that Bush was a dangerous ideologue and comically inpet, ehh?

so the only "accomplishment" we have listed so far is:

not being bush....

wow, how obama managed to do that is Omazing
Well not being Bush aint exactly a little thing. I mean you wing nuts still don't get it, do you? You still just don't understand how dangerous Bush was precieved by the rest of the world and how much he was feared and loathed. This is his legacy and part of the damage he's done to our nation.

33 pages and the Nazi hatefest on Obama continues. Hey morons Obama started changing the country 6 months before he was elected when everyone knew
Mcfossil was done. But give me 33 more of KKK hatespeach.

I'll have to tell you, I don't like that Obama's win overshadows the 3 prizes for Medicine that were given to Americans yesterday, but otherwise I think it is great. It has brought us hours of entertainment and breathed new life into Chuck Norris/Obama jokes the world over...
Chuck Norris/Obama jokes? Err ya got me there.

I don't think that the fact that he was the worst president since anyone is really relevant. All presidents, all leaders, live in their own time. Bush lived in a time of potential peace and progress and simply did not understand his role and the expected role of the US. He was/is a fool who, in most nations, would not have made village elder. I do not believe he was actually liked or admired by anyone. His cronies saw him as a meal ticket and a way of getting their extreme views onto centre stage and his supporters were people who did not understand, and still do not understand, the place and function of any society as it lives and trades with its neighbours.
Obama's main thrust seems to be in mending the bridges that bush stupidly destroyed. The bush people are totally incapable of understanding that. Just look at the comments here!
