So when Trump keels over from the Covid19 sweeping the White House despite his handlers propping him up with heroic medical efforts and the usual excuses, can this country deal with Pence as President? Would the GOP freak out if Pelosi took the reigns?

Not gonna happen, but yes, Pence would be much better than the mentally challenged dipshit.

If Trump and Pence die from covid, Pelosi will be President and postpone elections until 2022.

Pence would be a terrible president, but he would be a terrible president who can still do the job. Trump, as we are seeing now, is incapable of doing the job. In the words of Bill Maher, Pence would at least be the kind of terrible we're used to.

actually, it does.......when Gerald Ford became president he appointed Rockefeller as VP.....after that, whoever was Speaker of the House did NOT remain in 2nd place.......

when Nixon resigned, Ford picked Rockefeller as VP it was approved with a bipartisan vote, a majority of Dems and a majority of Reps in both houses of congress voting to approve......

If trump and Pence die, or are unable to be president, the Constitution says that Pelosi becomes President. I am not saying it is likely, but it certainly is possible. It does not require a coup.

It does require a fast series of events. For instance, Nixon and Agnew both had to leave office because of severe corruption. The Speaker of the House did not become President, because things happened slowly enough to appoint a new VP, and get him confirmed. Ford became the first President not to be elected to either the Presidency or the Vice Presidency.

With a pandemic taking the elderly, it is only common sense to start thinking about what happens if some of the elderly in power die.

Pence believes that evolution is an evil lie created by the devil, and has governed over a terrible health failure with HIV. Under normal circumstances, I would not want him in the White House... But he is better than trump.
