Of Possible Things to Come!

actually, it does.......when Gerald Ford became president he appointed Rockefeller as VP.....after that, whoever was Speaker of the House did NOT remain in 2nd place.......

Ford was appointed as VP, when Agnew resigned. Ford was extremely popular on both sides of the isle, so the conformation process only took a month. When Ford became President, he appointed Rockefeller as VP. Rockefeller was also extremely popular on both sides of the isle, so the confirmation process only four months.

So if the appointment is extremely popular, then it can be confirmed in one to four months. Haley is NOT popular, so it could stretch out into years... If it is not done before Pence dies (hypothetically) then Pelosi is President.

Just to be extremely clear, this is all hypothetical. I do wish trump removed from office through legal means, but not his death.

Pence would need confirmation from the Senate. That would be a lengthy fight. Maybe it could be done in time... Or maybe not.

why on earth do you think he would have trouble in the Republican controlled senate?........however, a VP confirmation would require approval of both houses of Congress.....

25th Amendment to the Constitution....
Section 2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

if there was version 2.0 of the NancyDance and she took the Oval Office because of her delays it would probably set off an actual civil war.......at the very least she would find herself to the the next victim of Impeachment Lite....

when Nixon resigned, Ford picked Rockefeller as VP it was approved with a bipartisan vote, a majority of Dems and a majority of Reps in both houses of congress voting to approve......

Rockefeller was extremely popular on both sides of the isle, and it still took four months. In a situation where a pandemic is moving quickly through the white house, trump and pence could be dead within days of each other.

he nominates someone as VP.....the senate approves it and Nancy blocks it in the House so she can be next in line?........and the demmycrats would be okay with that?

Were you OK with the Senate violating the Constitution and not even allowing Obama's Supreme Court nomination a vote? The House does not have to confirm any nut job, just because Pence wants them. If Pence wanted a VP, he would have to pick someone acceptable to both Democrats and Republicans.

the use of Haley was random, but let's be honest........the demmycunts would not find anyone except Nancy to be popular.....

sure, there's what, a 1.5% chance that either one of them might die from the virus......what do you think the odds would be of both of them doing so......

1) the senate did precisely what the Constitution said......no violation.......if it happens again this summer the senate will do precisely what the Constitution says.....decide whether to ratify the president's nomination.....(note that Obama did NOT pick someone acceptable to both Demmycrats and Republicans).....
2) how would you have reacted if because of the delay, McConnell had been appointed to the SC?......

Have you ever heard of the Constitution?

Pelosi does not "take the reigns"...there is either a coup or there is not a coup.

Here comes CHICKEN LITTLE to tell us "THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING"!

Fucking hilarious.

Impeachments are not coups! And the speaker of the House is 3rd in line to be the president by default when a president and his vice president have been corrupted and can no longer be trusted to lead our nation.

As for Mike Pence, HE IS NOT QUALIFIED TO LEAD THIS NATION EITHER. For he is the one person in a position that cannot be fired by this president just because he disagrees with the president, and in the best position to stand up to this president and tell him when he is wrong on any issue. THAT IS HIS FUCKING JOB AND HE HAS BLOWN IT SO MANY TIMES, it's no longer funny, and instead has done nothing more than play the dummy's role in a Ventriloquist ACT!

See that is what worries me. You people keep talking about a revolution if you do not like the results of the Constitutional process. Pelosi has been nothing but a faithful servant of the people, so she would not be impeachable. And by the Constitution, she would be President (if both trump and pence die). You loved the Constitutional process when trump became president even though the vast majority of Americans did not want it, but hate the Constitutional process when anyone else becomes President?

They are old and in bad health. Even without the pandemic, there is a better than 1.5% chance either one will die before November.

There have been 44 Presidents, and 8 of them have died in office. It happens.

if it happens again this summer the senate will do precisely what the Constitution says

Scalia died in February, not the summer. They had months that they were in session, and refused to vote on it. The Republicans have already said that if it happens again, they will rush through trump's nominee.

note that Obama did NOT pick someone acceptable to both Demmycrats and Republicans

Obama picked Merrick Garland, who was so acceptable that even McConnell admitted that if he could get a vote, he would fly through. That is why he was refused the vote.

Democrats have been trying to work with Republicans for years now. And the response has been a violent refusal to work together.

lol.....yeah we noticed how the Demmycunts in the House tried to work with Republicans during the NancyDance.....

how would you have reacted if because of the delay, McConnell had been appointed to the SC?......

Imagine how angry I would be if McConnell violated the Constitution to keep from even voting on a nominee, so that he could fill it later... Imagine how angry I would be if McConnell kept some nominees from being voted on for years...

I don't have to imagine that, because it happened.
