Ohio Governor

As a fellow Buckeye I have to agree with your analysis. Probably the biggest change for Republicans came in western, rural Ohio, which tends to be a one issue region, where many woke up and decided that abortion wasn't the most important issue around and that the economy and the war in Iraq mattered. Another one is that a significant # of expat Buckeyes, like myself, just couldn't deal with 2004 and we came back home to help make a differance.

Strickland, with his bipartisan approach is a shoe in for re-election and if the Bush administration keeps proving that there a cadre if inept, incompetant and corrupt ideologes.....well Ohio will go blue for sure.......but Dems shouldn't rest on their laurals......Ohio is by nature a moderate state....and are gonna vote for those who provide the best governance.

Ohio is a bellweather baby, the best state in the union.

Driver's licenses is not going to stop illegal immigration. Its a phony wedge issue.
You are the one making a phoney wedge issue out of it. the Photo ID, (not necessarily driver's licenses) are suggested as a reasonable way to Identify them. not a way to stop the ommigration. but yes, cracking down on employees is the reasonable course of action to start the crackdown.

Motley! Dang, I've been seeing a lot of you guys from back in the day lately.

Welcome!

Yea Politics.com died and now FullPolitics is dying.....not much going on there......it's also the slow season in politics. Bush is so unpopular that he's not trying anything new and stupid to get everyone all worked up.......they right wing talking heads and faux news have been completely discredited......so not a whole lot to debate on anymore......Hell I doubt even Dixie can support the war in Iraq by now (Knowing Dixie.....I'm probably wrong). Bout the only thing we got is the Primaries and it will be ineteresting to see what happens. Will the parteis choose someone who is popular with the base (and in the Republicans case that would be someone sure to lose) or will the Dems choose someone that's popular with the base....and not so popular with moderates and independants and who polarizes conservatives, like Hilliary. I pray that Dems in the middels can overwhelm the base and nominate someone other than Hilliary......I fear another debacle and a potential loss with Hilliary when what is needed is a Democratic landslide.

Hopefully the elections is not all that our gummit is about. It would be nice if Congress did some good stuff.
JPP is not dying, it is just vacation time.
I think all the boards and stuff are slow right now.
