Hurricane Dorian: The latest forecast for Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas

Dorian will be closest to Florida on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning when it nears Cape Canaveral as a Category 3 hurricane.

Flooding, winds up to 80 mph and storm surge will be the biggest threats to Florida's east coast over next few days.


Storm surge could reach 7 feet from West Palm beach to Jacksonville.

The National Hurricane Center is also warning of a tornado threat in Florida on Monday.


"Hurricane Dorian is the strongest storm to ever threaten the state of Florida on the East Coast," said Jared Moskowitz, director of Florida's Division of Emergency Management. “No matter what path this storm takes, our state will be impacted."

Hurricane warnings are in effect from just north of West Palm Beach to Cape Canaveral.

A hurricane watch has been issued for Daytona and Jacksonville while a tropical storm watch was issued for Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.

Does the thought of a possible impending disaster in the state make you giddy?

I'm asking because that's kinda what it sounds like and you've expressed similar sentiments before.

Dorian expected to get "dangerously" close to Florida tonight
While Hurricane Dorian creeps along at 1 mph, the storm is expected to get "dangerously" close to the US tonight, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The Category 4 storm is moving in a westward to west-northwestward motion, which should be followed by a gradual turn toward the northwest and north, the center said in its 11 a.m. ET advisory.

100 miles east off palm beach , even if it does turn , which will be very slow , major impact

Another huge fail for the stupid Muslim Yankee. I'm more scared of a spider than I am this hurricane. Irma arrived at night, 3:00 am -- and I was asleep. It was a nothing burger.

The only thing I'm concerned about is losing power and A/C which may not even happen, in which case I will merely enjoy an unplanned, paid day off. lmao

Stupid Yankee.
