I used to think that, until I saw what's been happening w/ the GOP field. In the new Fox poll, she leads Romney by 15%. Giuliani is closer to her at 5% down, but I don't think he has a prayer of catching her. He's just not ready for prime time.

Seriously...who out there beats her right now?

It's not about numbers in the primary. It will be about electability in the general elections.

I truly wish if we needed a female presidential candidate...it would be the likes of 'Ann Margret'..she was a lady and supported the troops...in realtime..she was a true heroin..I dedicate 'She's a Lady' to Ann Margret! A real person with real convictions..she was one of the guys so to speak...but thats another story...from the VN era!

Hillary is qualified to be president. And should she win I could respect her based on most of her voting record. Mind I did not say all of her voting record. I am convinced however that her baggage (Bill and her masculine persona) coupled with poor public speaking skills and an unlcdear message about Iraq will prevent her from being elected.

As to Ann Margaret? Definitely a class act!

Why because she could do away with the opposition..a cheap 'hit lady' in my opinion..she flip flops more than the SP -4 Al Gore..Need I say more...as for Margret...she is a dudes dream***sigh***

Yes, she flip-flopped. That was to keep her senate seat. In truth she understands Iraq better than her other two front runners, and I believe would basically continue to support the 'no time-line' withdraw that would be disasterous to Iraqi's and the WOT.

I am a up front and honest guy who always keeps the mantra...never sways or dodges..thats how my parents raised me...'Happy Days' ya call em' as ya see em and stick to your convictions..I suppose that is why I would never be electable as well as many more who are honest!..end of story!

The poll was not primary #'s; it was national, head-to-head, Clinton against anyone in the R field.

Giuliani is the front runner right now, and the one in closest striking distance to Hillary in the national polls, but he'll bomb. There is a significant portion of the GOP base that will not vote for him, no matter what the circumstances.

No one beats her and that is why the GOP is freaking out at this point. they know that anyone of the top Dems can beat their top runners by a mile!

I'm no expert but this is how I see it playing out if it is Hillary vs. Rudy. You are correct that there will be a portion of the Republican base that will be completely turned off by him. The decision then comes down to is their disgust for Rudy stronger than their dislike of Hillary Clinton? My belief is the dislike of Hillary will win out and they'll be the voters at the polls holding their noses while voting for Rudy.

The big play of course will be the Independents. Hillary has a pretty high numbers on the non-likability scale. It is definitely possible for her to turn that around but it will be a challenge.

That's true about Hillary, she has high unlikeablity ratings. But, if it's Rudy, well, he's going to implode. Of that, I have no doubt. I watched that man for too long to think otherwise. Also, the religious base, no matter how much they hate Hillary, won't come out for Rudy. They're going to sit that one out.

I'd say it's going to be Romney or Thompson anyway. Either way, I wouldn't want to have my money riding on a Republican win in 08. I've never seen this country so fed up with an administration, and that is going to play a role.

Thompson looks good now, but he won't by the time he gets the nomination, which, I won't be surprised if he does. He's beatable.
 
Who really knows....

who on which side will get the nomination..I suppose it depends on what happens in the WOT NY will probably take another major hit this summer...then we will see who rises above the rest!

He was in Die Hard, the first one? I've seen that movie a dozen times and I guess I never knew who Thompson was.
