Anyone who is serious about wanting to be POTUS needs to be prepared and committed for a job that is seven days a week, 365 days a year, and 16 hours a day. That requires a remarkable amount of physical energy, self-discipline, and mental focus.

I believe that is at least part of the reason modern presidents have been men in reasonably good to peak physical condition for men their ages. One cannot separate physical health, from energy levels and mental focus.

The fact that Trump willfully chooses to be a lethargic and gluttonous pig speaks to the fact that he is not really interested in governance, being presidential, or representing the United States of America in a presentable way.

But if somebody was THAT devoted to the office he wouldn't have TIME for golf.

What I mean is that a president is never not really off work.
I am pretty sure even on vacation and on golf days they take a daily security briefing, take briefings and updates from staff, talk on the phone multiple times to political allies, staff, and cabinet members about strategy, domestic politics, and policy.

That is not even to mention they have to be on-call at all times, at all hours of the day, in a way that a medical doctor is not even obligated to. I really don't think there is any true freedom from work for a president or a prime minister, in the way normal people experience vacation, weekends, and time off.
