Papal front runners. If the Black guy becomes the next pope, white Republicans will scream DEI till their buttholes explode

While I won't call anyone the C word, I think the moment a woman uses that word that cloak of respect is lost. If TOP had called others the C word then she would be fair game. But I have never seen her doing that. Since apparently Christie never used that term I will also defend her when I see her called the C word.
I’ve never seen her called that. Has she?

I will say that this is somewhat true. The sermons that I have heard don't preach hate, they preach compassion for those who think they are "saved" but are not as they haven't been "born again". Never once heard from any pulpit that they should "hate Catholics".
Maybe you weren't listening. Maybe you have only listened to exceptionally inclusive sermons. Maybe you haven't read the entirety of this thread. Maybe you haven't talked to a Catholic-hating "other Christian" about Catholicism ever. You have options in your forum. Take your pick.

Duh. This looks like a priestly ordination. The deacons prostrate themselves for part of the ceremony and it has nothing to do with the Pope, the bishop ordaining them, or the other priests present. I've been to several. You're so uneducated about Catholicism.

"After the homily, the candidates make a series of promises, including their resolve to carry out their new ministry with humility and fidelity. For the last promise, each candidate goes individually to the bishop, kneels and places his joined hands between the hands of the ordaining bishop, and promises obedience and respect to him and his successors.

Next is a period of prayer and intercession for these men. The candidates lie prostrate — face down — in humble submission, while the entire assembly calls upon the saints of heaven to intercede at this moment."

It's possible you remain ignorant about my past, and that you know very little about me therefore... I speak to my own experience, not the experience of others. You can particularly be sure of this when I say something like, "In all those sermons I had to listen to" (you cannot otherwise translate them into sign language)... followed by something I experienced, that I am talking about something I experienced, I'm not quoting, I'm not interpreting the words of another I am speaking to my own experience, because I cannot speak to the experience of another.

It's not only Owl, it's Phan, me and every other liberal woman who is or was on this forum.
The liberal women on JPP get called the "c" word every day,
I don’t see even Bowel being called that ‘every day’. Although she deserves it the way she stalks TOP, who doesn’t even acknowledge her.
And you say you and Phan get called that every day? I’m not here that much but that sounds like a big stretch.

I just want to be clear: I think you are a cunt. :ROFLMAO:

I’m curious. After getting kicked out of the army were you able to be a part-time reservist after showing you completed rehab? Or was the Navy that desperate for reservists ?
Answering a question with a question is 1) an admission of guilt and 2) the sign of a weak mind.

I was never kicked out of the Army. You're confusing me with @Stone. Your remaining questions are equally flawed and unanswerable.

Well, I'm glad there are pastors who don't use that kind of language from the pulpit. My experience has been mainly with fundamentalist individuals. In the past I mentioned going to a fundie bible study years ago with friends from work, and many of the attendees were very anti-Catholic and not ashamed to show it. This was the group where the leader was teaching that only 666,000 "true believers" could be admitted to heaven. She had everybody repeat a "salvation prayer" to insure we'd be part of the 666K. She tried to get everybody to tithe. Everything was literal.
One fundie told me that God softens or hardens the heart and therefore if God wanted me to be saved I would be...

Basically told me that I don't believe because God rejected me.

That's because you're a hypocritical misogynist who holds women to a different standard than men.

Furthermore, right in this thread (post 881) Toxic was snarking at me because I once argued that the word should be banned. Toxic claims I never called out TOW etc. for using the "C" word, yet she never, ever called out Hawkeye or the others for using it against us. Both of you are unbearably phony.

Army, marines - all the same to me. You were kicked out after only six years.
Then worked part-time the next 14. No wonder your ex divorced you.

I :loveu: irony. ^

Revelation fundies (by my definition). Revelation 17, they "interpret" that portion to believe that it is a corrupt religion. They "interpret" the clothes the whore wears to be the trappings of the Catholic Church...

Even with those teachings, I have yet to hear from any pastor on a pulpit other than the hope they can help Catholics. I will say that I once asked the pastor of that church I grew up in whether he thought Mother Theresa would go to hell, and he suggested that if she had never taken Christ into her heart as Jesus taught Nicodemus she would surely go there. So, I hear what you are saying, but saying "they aren't saved" is not "you should hate them".
In all fairness it isn't just about the clothes or even the golden cup. There are a lot more identifying points. A big one for me is in the Bible the true Church is symbolized as a virgin bride. The opposite of that is a whore. The whore in Rev 17 is the "mother of harlots" . So we have an impure Church, one that teaches error, wearing the colors reserved for royalty (purple and scarlet) carrying a golden cup and birthing multiple other impure churches. Watch your TV the next couple of weeks for the trappings. And history shows us the church that most protestant churches split from. Then there is the marking war with the saints. The inquisition would met that point also. So there are lots of points that match up.
