The bitch is toast.
The 8th district of California keeps re-electing her. Perhaps though she will lose her post as Speaker.

Why? Seriously. Why is it that the only person that should suffer any negative ramifications flowing from the establishment and implementation of a systemic torture regime is Nancy Pelosi? I don't follow the logic on that one.
I don't mean to question your motives here, but is it possible that you just don't like Nancy Pelosi and want to see her suffer whether it is justified or not?
i'm wondering if that district is now wishing they'd voted for sheehan.![]()

Nancy Pelosi should suffer for her blatant hypocrisy and attempt to lay blame at the door of others when it is becoming very apparent that what she has attempted to use in order to bash others, is something she participated in with full knowledge.
I love what Krauthammer had to say:
"Today Pelosi protests “we were not — I repeat — were not told that waterboarding or any other of these other enhanced interrogation methods were used.” She imagines that this distinction between past and present, Clintonian in its parsing, is exonerating.
On the contrary. It is self-indicting. If you are told about torture that has already occurred, you might justify silence on the grounds that what’s done is done and you are simply being used in a post-facto exercise to cover the CIA’s rear end. The time to protest torture, if you really are as outraged as you now pretend to be, is when the CIA tells you what it is planning to do “in the future.”
But Pelosi did nothing. No protest. No move to cut off funding. No letter to the president or the CIA chief or anyone else saying “Don’t do it.”
On the contrary, notes Porter Goss, then chairman of the House intelligence committee: The members briefed on these techniques did not just refrain from objecting, “on a bipartisan basis, we asked if the CIA needed more support from Congress to carry out its mission against al-Qaeda.”
More support, mind you. Which makes the current spectacle of self-righteous condemnation not just cowardly but hollow. It is one thing to have disagreed at the time and said so. It is utterly contemptible, however, to have been silent then and to rise now “on a bright, sunny, safe day in April 2009” (the words are Blair’s) to excoriate those who kept us safe these harrowing last eight years."
Well if Charles Karuthammer says so . . .
And what you wrote is incomprehensible.
Which part don't you understand?
OK. Reading it again I guess I get it. The claim is that she should suffer for her hypocrisy in criticizing others about torture when she knew what was going on? Is that it?
But she claims that she was lied to about what was going on in the only briefing that she attended. If she were lied to then what?
And it's clear that, contrary to Krauthammer's suggestion, the only Democrats that were actually briefed on what the CIA was doing, Jane Harmon and Jay Rockefeller, lodged protests to both the CIA and the Vice President. They were told to pound sand.
Now, they certainly could have done more to attempt to stop the torture regime from happening, and I have already said that they were weak-kneed panty-wastes for not doing more, but holding them out as equally culpable as those that created and implemented the torture regime is crap.
Who's talking about suffering? Reading your posts is the real crime against humanity.
I guess what also bothers me is the fact that no one is paying attention to the fact that there is an increasing likelihood that the CIA used the torture regime during the run up to the Iraq War in an effort to elicit false information concerning the Iraq-al Qaeda link.
I mean, whether we tortured people to obtain false information as an excuse to invade a country that results in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and four thousand U.S. troops seems like a slightly bigger deal than whether a politician is a hypocrite. As is the issue as to whether torture was used after the invasion on Iraqi POWs to obtain the same false information to justify the war after then fact. But again, that's just me.
But it's a more interesting news item when the speaker of the House publicly calls the cia liars.
It's easier to write about. I don't know that it's more interesting.

Just how ignorant IS Pelosi? She is either one of the most ignorant people alive or she is lying. Which is it?
Everytime she is informed of something that goes wrong we quickly hear 'but but they TRICKED me'. So she is either a dumbass that constantly is tricked and thus has no business being in a leadership role. Or she is lying, in which case she has no business being in a leadership role.
I guess you aren't going to bother responding to the substance of my posts and intend to resort to this nonsense.
In the end, Pelosi supports a Truth Commission to get to the bottom of the whole mess whereas her detractors don't. What are they hiding from?
A truth commission, created by liars. Funny.
