Paul Ryan: Greatest Line In Speech

He is fixing the mess, Dixie. He's slowly getting the troops home and he's not rattling sabers or cages doing it. Simply saying, "Oops, sorry. We're going home now.", after turning the lives of countless people up-side down doesn't quite cut it. Leaving the people pissed off is only going to result in more problems. That's the thing about cleaning up other people's mess. It's a long and difficult job if it's to be done right.

No, he is following the exact same timeline Bush set forth in Iraq when he was president. There has been no 'speeding up' of that process. And I guess Bush should have set a timeline for Afghanistan as well, because it appears Obama doesn't know when to leave there at all. Gitmo is still open for business, another thing Obama promised to do and hasn't done yet.

Then there's the economy. We all know the reality has changed with free trade and businesses moving overseas. Instead of Bush and the Repubs making plans, if not actually putting any into effect, to deal with the new reality their solution was to further remove government help. YAmmer Yammer yammer...excuses excuses excuses... blah blah blah...

Again... If Obama couldn't fix the mess left by Bush, how is he supposed to fix the mess added from the past 4 years?

That is what Obama has been working on for the last four years.

And he has FAILED... so why does he need 4 more years? To FAIL more???

While he's been cleaning up the mess and trying to give the American people some reassurance

He hasn't 'cleaned up' anything... we are worse off than 4 years ago! He is not reassuring Americans of anything, he continues to blame it on republicans and kick the can down the road.

The economy is improving.

No, it's not. 1% growth is NOT improving. He is FAILING. On every level, at every turn, by every standard. This is why you have to continue blaming Republicans and making excuses for Obama. If he were succeeding, we'd see indications of his success, we'd see things getting better and improving, we'd see jobs coming back again, and we don't. Instead, we get your long-winded explanations for how things are different now, and we just have to accept shit sandwiches and be grateful, because times have changed.

I forget which country told Obama the troops would be subject to local laws but the troops were pulled out of there because Obama didn't want US troops subjected to foreign laws. I agree with Obama AND I agree with the guy who insisted on that. One problem solved. If the Repubs were still in power do you think it would have gone as smoothly as that? How many times do you have to hear Cheney and McCain talk about keeping troops in foreign countries? Didn't you see/hear any of their interviews? And, please, don't talk about the Repub pull-out plans. 8 years. 10years. A dozen years in different countries. I don't believe a damn thing they said about pulling out. Something would have come up to change plans because they didn't want to leave in the first place. And those are the same people who hang out in the Repub party. Those guys are still there, some lurking in the background and some, like Cheney, who can't keep their mouth shut when it comes to war. They live for war.

That's not a reflection of Obama's competence. It's proof of the extent of damage caused by the Repubs. Obama inherited those problems, problems caused by and left by the Repubs. In any case, whether or not you feel Obama is fixing them quick enough why would anyone re-elect the party that was on watch when the problems arose and failed to fix them then? It doesn't make any sense. It's not a choice between which party will fix things quicker. It's a choice between which party fixes problems and which party causes problems. It's a choice between which party encourages peace and acquires a surplus contrasted with which party preaches war and takes money that could be used to keep American citizens alive and tell us they chose the option to use the money for war. That's the choice on election day.

My explanations are long winded because some people are not able to understand the basics. How do you think the jobs are going to come back? Do you think companies that built and equipped plants overseas and staffed them are going to walk away and build new plants here? They've already been given tax incentives to build overseas. Should we throw more money at them so they'll come back? Maybe make a deal so they could come back and pay absolutely no tax. How about that? Maybe throw in a hefty bonus, too. And get rid of environmental controls. Why don't you just elect the CEOs of companies to run the country. Cut out the middle man altogether. Let's replicate the conditions in the countries where the factories currently are located. That's the simple solution. That's the Repub solution. Get rid of pensions. Get rid of medical care. Get rid of minimum wage. Then all the companies will move back and unemployment will drop to zero as the unemployed won't be living long enough to be counted. Is that the solution you support?

Can you believe it?

(Excerpt) Paul Ryan's campaign walked back comments the VP nominee made about running a marathon.

"I had a two hour and fifty-something" marathon, Ryan said last week an interview. "I hurt a disc in my back, so I don’t run marathons anymore."

But the Ryan campaign confirmed to Runner's World that he has only run one marathon, the 1990 Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota, which he finished in just over 4 hours......

This isn't the first time Ryan has come under fire this week for stretching the truth. His RNC speech was chastised for misleading claims about Medicare and the 2008 closing of a Wisconsin plant. (End)

The Repub scum are so used to lying they lie about things for no reason. Who cares about a marathon 20 years ago? Yet, they have to bullsh!t about it.

It's beyond pathetic.
