"The movement calls for abolishing imprisonment and replacing it with restorative/transformative accountability programs." Some of the other things mentioned I'm not necessarily against, but a lot of leftists seem to have this idea that everyone can be redeemed. That's pretty naive.
I can see making certain offenses eligible for "restorative" programs, but certainly not violent offenders.

As to the violent offenders, I am sure they can make it case by case basis. If they cannot be rehabilitated, then just leave them where they are.
But I think better rehabilitation is a good idea.
