Physician Sentenced for Part in January 6 Insurrection

She had claimed in an interview with The Washington Post that “where I was was incredibly peaceful,” when video showed that the emergency room physician and Stanford-trained attorney did nothing as a mob she was with dragged a police officer to the ground

Show me a Trump ass-licker, and I can pretty much guarantee you they are a pathological liar.

No but I know several family med docs that moonlight in the ER. In my case I liked working in the ER I found it challenging. I liked the variety also.

Do you believe those who gave money to support overthrowing the nation should be held criminally liable?

...or insane. Pmp appears to be a chronic liar but I think most JPP RWNJs are mentally unbalanced. Lonely, elderly men waiting to die in a retirement facility with the Internet as their window to the world.

I think if someone is committed to only having decent, ethical people in their lives the most important pieces of information you can acquire about someone is if they like animals, and whether they voted for Trump.

I can't think of a quicker way to screen out the sociopaths, the liars, and the unethical.

Good rule of thumb.

OTOH, online it's a matter of trust; if a person claims to love animals, do they really? This is why observing a person's behavior over the long term* is the best way to develop a profile on their personality.

Another factor to consider is how they react when confronted with opposing facts; do they stay factual or go personal?

Darth Omar claimed to work in medicine too. LOL

The kicker for me is when such people make these claims then don't know shit about medical science.

Call the DA

They're already on it and all the Pedo Don fans are screaming about how the "Libruls are witch huntin' Trump!" or words to that effect.

FWIW, I think there's a bigger chance of Trump facing criminal court in Georgia rather than on the Federal level. He'll spend his fortune fighting off prison so I doubt he'd ever have to actually show up on prison...unless it's to visit Junior.

OTOH there are those who prefer animals to humans because they can't get along with humans, or they are socially inept, or they use the animals as a substitute for human-human relationships. We've all seen those sad childless women who dress up their dogs and put hats on them and sleep with them. A well-balanced person IMO gets along well with both humans and critters, and definitely does not vote for Trump, DeSantis, MTG, etc.

There should be laws that prevent this, it’s basically fraud.

That may be part of an eventual overall package on how to resolve this. Notice the silence growing among Congressional Republicans. I think they know what is coming down the pike and are trying to avoid pissing off the Trumpers until it's all done. Sure, they'll blame Democrats for being excessive but when push comes to shove, the Republicans will agree on legislation that prevents a lot of this bullshit from happening again.

Part, or all, of this I've penciled in as Patriot Act 20XX and expect to see something by November 2024. Except for a few nutjobs, a lot of Republicans are uncomfortable with how close Trump came to murdering a bunch of them and setting himself up as President for Life like his heroes Putin and Kim.

Agreed on well-balanced.

Something to include are people who shut off more than usual from others such as an invalids or other non-ambulatory people. Who visits them if they are living alone? Agreed developing relations with animals as you described is substituting animals for human companionship. Agreed too that such behavior starts moving away from the norm depending upon degree.

What I find most odd are those cut-off lean far Right. Is it the fear?

Agreed. When the time comes, the Republican party will shout some disagreement, then peacefully step aside.

The good news? Without pardons, all of Trump's terrorists, traitors and criminals will be facing justice on their own. :rofl2:

I think that far-RW ppl in general are fearful and have low self-esteem. They often try to cover that up with bluster, guns, bravado, bragging, etc.

Hello Dutch,

Hard to picture Republicans turning on Trumpism. It only works if everyone is on board. Who is gonna go first? Whoever does, gets primaried.

No, Don't see it happening.

They made their bed. Now they are stuck with it.

Agreed, but I think far-RW people are a subgroup of the fearful and low self-esteemed. Some of that is disposition, a psychological genetic condition, but others can simply be a matter of education and training.

Every adult on this forum can think of a past experience where they felt like a fish out of water; fearful and negatively impacting self-esteem. It's a part of being human. When it becomes excessive, it becomes a problem. No different than watching a small cut can turn into a blood infection if not washed with clean water, and allowed to bleed a little to clean it.

American people are very unhappy with their government. There are multiple reasons for this. There's only one thing I'm sure about: violently overthrowing the nation won't work. It rarely does.

In the eyes of history, the American Revolution was an abnormality since the Cuban, French, Spanish and Russian revolutions are much more typical: subjugation by despots.

This is what those who seek to overthrow our nation want: COMPLETE control of everything. No freedom, no rights, just submission.

Those who have sworn to support the Constitution will agree. Those who choose to violate their oaths will not.
