She had claimed in an interview with The Washington Post that “where I was was incredibly peaceful,” when video showed that the emergency room physician and Stanford-trained attorney did nothing as a mob she was with dragged a police officer to the ground

Show me a Trump ass-licker, and I can pretty much guarantee you they are a pathological liar.
...or insane. Pmp appears to be a chronic liar but I think most JPP RWNJs are mentally unbalanced. Lonely, elderly men waiting to die in a retirement facility with the Internet as their window to the world.
I think if someone is committed to only having decent, ethical people in their lives the most important pieces of information you can acquire about someone is if they like animals, and whether they voted for Trump.
I can't think of a quicker way to screen out the sociopaths, the liars, and the unethical.

Call the DAThere should be laws that prevent this, it’s basically fraud.

Good rule of thumb.
OTOH, online it's a matter of trust; if a person claims to love animals, do they really? This is why observing a person's behavior over the long term* is the best way to develop a profile on their personality.
Another factor to consider is how they react when confronted with opposing facts; do they stay factual or go personal?
*at least a few hundred posts regarding various subjects.
And still continues to grift his cult. She simply followed President Donald "Scam Artist" Trump's example. Notice how Trump raised $250K and then kept most of it to spread around in a slush fund to pay off friends.

OTOH there are those who prefer animals to humans because they can't get along with humans, or they are socially inept, or they use the animals as a substitute for human-human relationships. We've all seen those sad childless women who dress up their dogs and put hats on them and sleep with them. A well-balanced person IMO gets along well with both humans and critters, and definitely does not vote for Trump, DeSantis, MTG, etc.
And still continues to grift his cult.
That may be part of an eventual overall package on how to resolve this. Notice the silence growing among Congressional Republicans. I think they know what is coming down the pike and are trying to avoid pissing off the Trumpers until it's all done. Sure, they'll blame Democrats for being excessive but when push comes to shove, the Republicans will agree on legislation that prevents a lot of this bullshit from happening again.
Part, or all, of this I've penciled in as Patriot Act 20XX and expect to see something by November 2024. Except for a few nutjobs, a lot of Republicans are uncomfortable with how close Trump came to murdering a bunch of them and setting himself up as President for Life like his heroes Putin and Kim.

Agreed on well-balanced.
Something to include are people who shut off more than usual from others such as an invalids or other non-ambulatory people. Who visits them if they are living alone? Agreed developing relations with animals as you described is substituting animals for human companionship. Agreed too that such behavior starts moving away from the norm depending upon degree.
What I find most odd are those cut-off lean far Right. Is it the fear?

I think that far-RW ppl in general are fearful and have low self-esteem. They often try to cover that up with bluster, guns, bravado, bragging, etc.
