Political Correctness

Thus far, nobody has been able to explain to me what it really is and why it upsets the Conservatives so much....

But I saw a thing today that strengthened my understanding, it explains to me what some are so upset with it.

Political Correctness is respect for others!

For the life of me I cannot understand why someone would be upset with me telling them "Happy Holidays" unless they are so egotistical that they insist on the entire world pretending that their way is the only way, and that their way is the only correct way. Why do you want to insist that everyone is just like you?

PC seems to be the acknowledgement that others might be different and that being different is okay.

In the 1980's the mantra was "greed is good". Now I guess its "Selfishness is good"...

Go read Obama's most recent interview. He speaks to it on college campuses. PC today means not having hear opinions that differ from your own. Is that what the college experience should be like?

Their also seems to be an idea that one should be able to say whatever they want, without any reaction from others, as long as it matches their version of reality. They can get upset over "Happy Holidays" but you are being PC if you point it out that not everyone celebrates Christmas.

We should all hear opinions that are different than our own, thats the point. Thats why its funny that they get upset if in my opinion I should wish someone who I don't know well "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas". Its not about an opinion, its about respecting the fact that I want to wish them a happy time, regardless of what they chose to celebrate.

Starbucks chose last year to change their cup design, and the PC crowd got all upset because it was not Chrsitmassy enough. They want everyone to celebrate their personal religion because they don't want to acknowledge that their might be other holidays at this time of year.

So, tell me, if someone comes to a College Campus and goes on a rant about "hatting all fucking niggers" should they be free from negative opinions about them? Should I be prohibited from responding? Should I be required not to judge them? Would it be okay for me to stop supporting them? Would it be okay for the University to refuse to pay that person a speaking fee in the future?

What if a person advocates that we "kill all the faggots"?
What if a person wants to "lynch all Christians"?
What if a person wants to "deport all Muslims"?

Would it be okay for me to speak out against those people?

PC is about not hearing differing opinions. Maybe you don't pay attention to what's happening on college campuses and thus play ignorant over what PC is.

Nice straw man Jarod. Use it keep you cool.

I don't know about college campuses but I know they loved Trump because "he was not PC"?

When Trump attacks Saturday Night Live and wants them taken off the air... is he being PC?

this just goes to show that right is more PC as the left are the ones still whining about the election with insults and slurs

Which holiday does this country get a day off for ?
And everyone gets it, Christian or not.
If you want to wish an individual a happy some other day that is significant to them, feel free.
But don't use your laziness in learning if soneone has other traditions as an excuse.
