You actually said both, but ok, it actually makes no difference to me at all. Give me an example of a "political type" wanting us to say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas"? Why? The Political Types care? Silly?

Give me an example of "Political Types" orchestrating an effort to control people with PCness?

So the motivation behind a crime does not matter? We are trying to control people's behavior when the commit a crime for a specific reason? Then why do we differentiate between 1st and 2nd degree murder?

Why do we differentiate between 1st and 2nd degree murder? Why is vehicular homicide different than regular murder?

See above I have responded to it twice..... Third TIME....... Motivation of crimes matters... Hate Crimes are simply enhancement for motivation. Its the same thing as why we have different crimes for vehicular homicide and Murder 1 and Murder 2.

If you are worried because the government is controlling the behavior of criminals, we have more problems.

You didn't respond to it twice. You responded once and C/Ped once and you didn't answer anything, you responded to a question with a question.

Hate crime legislation does not deal with behavior in any way. Murder is murder, it doesn't matter why you did it.

Hate Crime legislation says that if you committed a crime and their is evidence that it was done out of hatred it should be handled differently than if it was not. Murder is simply not murder, their are different types of Murder (in a legal sense) their is Murder 1, Murder 2 (Often called Depraved heart murder) and Murder 3 (or Manslaughter) then their is vehicular manslaughter. All are killing of another person for different reasons. Its the same thing as what you call Hate Crime.

If its the criminals whose behavior you are upset about the Government controlling... we got problems. You don't think the government should be allowed to control the behavior of a criminal?

Your first sentence proves my point. The rest of your post is irrelevant because you are talking about intent to kill, not the reason why someone killed, no intent there to punish someones social thinking.
