Yeah the source of the numbers i Linked to was the FBI. Are you doing usual tactic of overloading with bullshit?
Provide us with some evidence of that Jarod. The FBI data suggests otherwise. According to their data the number decreased during Reagans tenure.
Also... the drug war started with Nixon, not Reagan
Melatonin... with or without the MJ... also very effective.
On a local level.... We had a terrable State Attorney, he prosecuted marajuana like it was murder, then he quit his elected position 9 months before the end of his term because the Koch brothers offered him a job.
Now we have a liberal State Attorney, a good man who Ive known for a long time.
They do not prosecute simple possession here in Palm Beach County anymore. As for Supercandy's argument about what Obama has done... it has at least one serious wrinkle... The Feds have never prosecuted simple possession and the FBI does not get involved in such enforcement. So... on the casual user, what happens at the local level is what is important.
Even in Colorado, where Possession is still a Federal Crime, the feds have said the will not be involved in enforcement.
there's a problem with your line of thinking on this. for those states that have legalized small amounts, or legalized med marijuana, but are still enforcing federal law turn their cases over to US attorneys, so it's still Obama doing this.Probably a good idea to focus on federal marijuana charges if your looking to pin arrests on Obama. He doesn't control what state and local police do.
I've tried it and wake up with a headache. Is this just coincidence?

I've posted half a dozen articles on it over the last year. Is it rampant? no, but it happens, specifically in NY and Cali. You have evidence of US Attorneys prosecuting simple marijuana possession on hand-off from state and locals? I highly doubt it is happening much at all.
While none of these are 'radicalruss.com', hopefully you will deem them worthy...

Yeah, I was just giving you shit for the site. I saw the stats and commented on them.
No, you asked for a 'valid' source for what I was talking about. I provided numerous sources on the same topic, many from left leaning organizations. I assumed that would help validate the information for you. They all pretty much say the same thing. So choose which source you find most valid and read up on it.
1) I was talking about Federal drug busts Jarod... which I have sourced.
2) It was String that sourced the individual arrests, which I then commented on
It started, officially with Nixon, it was ramped up and put into full gear with Reagan and Nancy's "just say no" campaign. It is mostly associated with Reagan, nobody needs a cite to know that, if they were alive in the 1980's.
You did not source anything.
Do any of your sources have an actual side by side comparison? The rolloing stone article indicated that he was on pace to outdo Bush with raids on dispensaries and legal growers. It talks in general terms and fails to provide any hard data. The LA Weekly article is based on the RS article. Dispensaries and growers are only part of the issue, but it would be nice if you could provide ONE source that has some hard data. I am not interested in searching through a bunch of articles with vague references to make your point for you.
Like it or not, the Republicans are worse on this issue. The Democrats are bad too argument is nothing but whiny apologetics.
again, you are incorrect. While the 'just say no' campaign was under Reagan, the war on drugs started under Nixon, was ramped up under Ford and Carter and DECLINED under Reagan. The Just say no campaign was designed to try and educate on the use of drugs. It had nothing to do with the number of arrests. It was trying to prevent the usage in the first place.
You do need a cite if you wish to proclaim that Reagan was the one that 'ramped up the war on drugs'.
While I am awaire war on drugs existed prior to Reagan, he is still the president most associated with it. Say what you want, its true.
