For you, what is the meaning of life?

A) To enjoy it to it's fullist and indulge in all it has to offer, whether good or bad as long as it makes me happy.

B) To pass the test that GOD has presented me by proving that I live by his law and am worthy of his kingdom.

C) Life has no meaning. Life is just a random occurrence. Life sucks!

D) I don't know, I'm still trying to figure that one out.

P.S. This is the first poll I have ever made at this site so I'm not sure if it will come out correctly. I placed a check in the box that says: Yes, place a poll in this thread and entered 5 as a number of poll options. So my apoligies beforehand if this doesn't come out right. :o :( Anyway here goes.....
 
Well, I guess I messed up, but I also learned how to do it now. I didn't like the 100 character limit per choice though. Makes it hard to be specific. Oh well!
 
I love meaning of life threads - they allow me to express my total confusion.

I voted "something other" and since I'm an obedient sort of bloke I'm responding to the direction to explain.

I believe that the meaning of life is for the individual to fulfill whatever potential he or she has as a human being. I do think that part of that human potential is to reproduce. For me it's a biological rather than spiritual imperative but that doesn't lessen it.

A brave poll, well done.
 
My meaning of life does not depend on an afterlife.

Why does there have to be an overall meaning for our existance ?
 
So far 2 have replied "Something else", but have decided not to specify what that is...... just like I so kindly asked. :rolleyes: We are so good at being considerate and at following instructions. :nono:

The purpose of life is to attempt to discover the true meaning of impermanence. One of the main reasons for suffering is the attempt to hold on to things that bring temporary joy in the hopes of retaining that happiness. It's like a handful of water, the tighter you grip the more quickly it slips away and even if you cup it and watch it carefully it will still evaporate.

Diuretic explained why he chose "other", and I was waiting until my subconscious put together a coherently, for those with Western philosophies, phrased sentence that expressed what I was trying to express.
