You're such a neocon parrot Southy, it's pathetic.

As usual Libby, you accuse me of exactly what you do. You are right about one thing though- it is pathetic.

Note that Southy didn't answer my question. Southy just tries to BS past what he doesn't dare deal with, least it rips the hinges of his fragile neocon mind.

(CNN) -- Barack Obama has come in at eighth in a list of golf-playing American presidents, higher than both George Bush and Ronald Reagan.

Bush was known for his love of golf, but figures released by Mark Knoller of CBS Radio, the unofficial White House statistician, have revealed that Obama has played golf 32 times during his presidency -- eight times more than his predecessor did during his entire tenure at the White House.

In fact, president Obama played a round as recently as last Sunday, when his flight to Poland for the funeral of president Lech Kaczynski was cancelled due to the volcanic ash cloud over Europe.

Golf Digest magazine has ranked president Obama ahead of both Bush and Reagan, but behind Bill Clinton -- who was known to practise his putting in the aisle of Air Force One.

Boy, guess after you fuck up a country, you get a lot of free time to play.

First year in office:

President Obama has spent all or part of 26 days "on vacation" during his first year as president, according to CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller.

President Reagan, in 1981, spent all or part of 42 days away from the White House "on vacation" at his home in Santa Barbara, Calif, according to Knoller. President Reagan and his wife, Nancy, also spent three or four days around New Year’s Day each year in Palm Springs, Calif....,

President George W. Bush spent even more time away from the presidential mansion in the nation’s capital than Reagan. Of the 77 total "vacation" trips the former president made to his Texas ranch while in office, nine of them — all or part of 69 days — came during his first year as president in 2001, according to Knoller.

Bush’s father, President George H.W. Bush, spent less time "on vacation" during his first year than his son, but spent more days than President Obama... According to travel records provided to FactCheck.org by the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, the former president took six trips — spanning all or part of 40 days — to the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine, in 1989. The archivist at Bush’s presidential library told us she didn’t have a list of all vacations but did have the Kennebunkport visits.

But at least two recent presidents — by Knoller’s count — took less "vacation" time during their first year than President Obama — Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.

According to Knoller, Carter spent just 19 days "on vacation" in 1977. Most of that time, Knoller says, the former president spent at his home in Plains, Ga. President Clinton took all or part of 174 days of vacation during his eight years as president — most of that "vacation" time was during the summer, according to Knoller. But Knoller says Clinton only took 21 "vacation" days during his first year.

who cares?

Trivia buffs, fact finding buffs, Presidential info buffs, the joker that started this conversation, the people who are reading and commenting on this thread (as you have). You know, the usual. :)

Of course we cared. bush took more vacation time than any other president, he spent 1/3 of his terms away from the WH.

I would think if you are not a fan of Bush or his policies the more time he spent away from the White House the better.

I know I celebrate when Congress is not in session.

:palm: The "premise" was set by your fellow idiot neocon parrot on the subject title of this thread.......all I did was put forth a simple question....How many times did the Shrub go on vacation? And are you lame enough to buy into the "working vacation" PR line for EVERY VACATION?

But as usual, you're too much of an intellectual coward to deal with reality. Fortunately, Christie took care of that:

What makes these stats such BS is both Bush's and Reagan maintained homes apart from the White House. There is evidence that both Bush's worked from their homes while visiting them...total fucking fail crispy!

Fact: Bush did a lot of presidential work during his times at Crawford.

Fact: Bush did a lot of presidential work during his times at Crawford.

A generalization by Southy that tries to detract from the main topic....neocon parrots squawking in glee over a false premise that Obama is wasting time on vacation.

BUT

When "FACTS" are presented as to just how much time the Shrub spent on vacation, Southy submits a generalized speculation as if it were fact. As I suspected previously, Southy actually did buy into those PR vids of the Shrub clearing brush off of his "ranch"...and considers THAT "presidential" work. :palm:

Your generalized speculation is that Bush went to Crawford and all that he did was trim brush; submitting a generalized speculation as if it were fact.

And the unspoken question is, IMO, why does he have to move his entourage and everything else thousands of miles away, numerous times during the year, and then claim it's a "working vacation". Why didn't he take the helicopter to Camp David if he needed to get away and "work"?

Oh that's right, he did. He spent all or part of 487 days at Camp David, in addition to the time he spent in Crawford.

Where's the outrage over this? You know, like the outrage that Pelosi demanded a 200-seat jet to travel to CA on taxpayer money, even though that was shown to be a lie. Some of these righty taxpayers only whine when it's the opposition party getting the perks.

Your generalized speculation is that Bush went to Crawford and all that he did was trim brush; submitting a generalized speculation as if it were fact.

:palm: If you're going to parrot a pharse that I use, then learn to properly apply it.

As the chronology of the posts shows, I DID NOT assert that all the Shrub did was trim bush (man, that's an opening for a lot of low brow jokes, but I'll pass)....I just pointed out how the FACT that was the PR released to the general public on occasion. To date, YOU cannot provide proof of your assertion that EVERY time the Shrub went on vacation that it was a "working" vacation. That is what YOU stated.....I NEVER denied the Shrub did have working vacations (AS THE WHITE HOUSE PRESS TOLD THE PUBLIC WHEN HE DID), but I don't have proof all of them were.

Bottom line: the subject title of this thread was proven wrong by the facts Christie produced. End of story.
