The media makes a big mistake covering this shit, they should ignore it, it is a designed strategy by Maralago. It is playing right into Trump’s hands, it not only gets Trump the notice he wants, as he has said, bad press is better enter than no press, it also allows him to play the martyr, to portray the media as picking on him again, showing their supposed bias

Cognitive Decline: Trump Gives Incoherent Explanation On Opening Alcatraz​

Trump seemed to suggest it was his nostalgia for old movies that led him to push for reopening the prison, which has been closed for 61 years.

"Well, I guess I was supposed to be a moviemaker. We’re talking, we started with the moviemaking, and it will end," Trump told a reporter who asked him why he wanted to reopen the island prison in San Francisco Bay. "It represents something very strong, very powerful, in terms of law and order. Our country needs law and order. Alcatraz is, I would say, the ultimate, right? Alcatraz, Sing Sing, and Alcatraz, the movies."

Trump has said he wants to use the island to once again house the worst prisoners in the country, as it did at its height of notoriety.

"But uh, it’s right now a museum, believe it or not. Lotta people go there. It housed the most violent criminals in the world, and nobody ever escaped," Trump continued. "One person almost got there, but they, as you know the story, they found his clothing rather badly ripped up, and uh, it was a lot of shark bites, a lot of problems," Trump said, seeming to reference the Clint Eastwood movie, Escape From Alcatraz.

"It sort of represents something that’s both horrible and beautiful and strong and miserable, weak. It’s got a lot of qualities that are interesting."

Wrong, totally infeasible, if you have ever been there you’d know that, at its peak, Alcatraz only held slightly over 300 prisoners at one time, and with an additional 300 personnel it brings the island’s capacity to 600, and your going to spend millions to rehabilitate Alcatraz for those numbers

It is already federal land. A bit of modernization and it will function as a prison again. There is nothing illegal about modernizing a federal prison and operating it on federal land, Wally.
