You're spending the money anyway.
Spend it in taxes and the money goes to the requisite services.
Buy those services with your own discretionary spending and get half the services while the rest of the money goes to corporate oligarchs.
You're spending the money either way,
but if you'd rather get half as much for it,

You're giving people instructions as to what they should do.
Be more specific as to how one could be accepted as a Swedish immigrant from America.

But Swedes are okay with it because their quality of life is much better.

I don't have health insurance because I can't afford it. I make $13/hr, but with all my bills and what little I can squirrel away in savings, I don't have enough money to pay the outstanding cost of health insurance. My employer offers it for $400/per bi-weekly pay period, which would be half my paycheck. And that's their cheapest plan. Adding a spouse would bring it to $900/per bi-weekly check.

After taxes, I bring home $802 bi-weekly.

I would gladly pay 30% of my paycheck if it meant universal healthcare with no co-pay, no ridiculous expenses, no wondering if my insurance company would decline a treatment, etc. It would be such a huge burden off my shoulders.
