APP - rachel maddow vs fox

What are those advantages?

Go here https://www.fedex.com/ratefinder/home

A 1 lb package or less, will get from NY to Cal. in 4 days, and cost you over $11.00

Wanna tell us how efficient they are when compared to sending the same letter for less than 50 cents?

'The Govt' is NOT the USPS

USPS pays no federal, state or local income taxes. I think that is a pretty unfair competitive advantage don't you?

Also there are postal laws which prohibit private companies from transporting or delivering letters or packets in direct competition with the Post Office. But, where competition is allowed as in the case of FedEx or UPS, private carriers are forced by law to charge at least $3 more or twice as much as the first class postage rate. The USPS is a government sanctioned monopoly.

Do you know why the Founders wanted a postal service to begin with? Because they didn't trust the British as the British controlled the mail at the time. So do you think we still have to fear from the British? Is that why we still need the US Postal Service? Are you scared the British are going to confiscate your porn? Come on, isn't it time you move FORWARD?

Utter nonsense. USPS pays no taxes, because THEY AREN'T ALLOWED TO MAKE A PROFIT.

Fed Ex is a for profit company. Do you know what that means?

So the difference between app. $11.00 to deliver a letter, and app. 50 cents is due to what?

Taxes are an expense.

You also gloss over the fact that they are forced to price higher than USPS. How is that competitive?
I have no idea what you're talking about. Can you link me to your info?

And let's assume your claims are half true....how can Fed Ex be more efficient than the USPS? What about the USPS is inefficient?

Before you reference USPS' financial woes, answer this: If Fed Ex, like USPS, were forced by Bush era legislation to pre fund retiree pensions for 75 years, what would Fed Ex's bottom line look like?

Ain't it funny they won't even acknowledge this? Could it be the wingnuts here don't know about this, maybe they're not allowed to know about this, or maybe they don't really believe in the constitution (sorry mr. franklin), or maybe the mail carriers are dangerous communist union thugs like those pinko teachers you were bitching about 2 months ago until 6 of them died trying to protect children.

The best way to hurt the Democratic party is to cut off some of it's funding by declaring war on organized labor. Just so happens the USPS is unionized. BAM another target.

Do you really believe it's about the price of a letter or free market competition?

i think that the repugs passed the measure that required the budget busting requirement regarding postal worker pensions

of course the repugs do not want the usps to continue as it is

oh well

These are the same people who claim that our tax dollars pay for the USPS. Bush wanted to privatize everything. The problem with privatizing mail delivery, is that 'for profit' companies will not take on business that loses money.

Which, in the case of mail service, entails delivering to deeply rural areas.

I'm still waiting to see how Fed Ex/UPS are more 'efficient' than USPS

seems that rachel maddow's ratings are much better than fox's

oh well

After prophesying a landslide win for Mitt Romney, Fox News has seen its ratings decline a lot more than usual since the election — and Sean Hannity's viewers in particular keep disappearing, whileRachel Maddow's continue to tune in over at rival MSNBC.

The last batch of Nielsen data available before year's end shows Hannity's viewership getting chopped in half after November 6, according to the New York Daily News's Don Kaplan. Politico'sDylan Byers argues this decline simply brings Hannity back to pre-election norms. Or perhaps these vanishing viewers are just disgruntled voters who can't stomach the news cycle anymore. Kaplan, however, attributes this decline to Hannity's implied predictions:

The female Bill O'Reilly. The only difference I see is she can preech propaganda with out yelling.

... answer this: If Fed Ex, like USPS, were forced by Bush era legislation to pre fund retiree pensions for 75 years, what would Fed Ex's bottom line look like?

Still no rational defense, or any logical argument from the radical right.

Why?

Don't blame that. It is a cookout excuse. Post office couldn't balance it's books long before that.

You are making excuses for their ineptitude. Not surprising

Incorrect. Quite the contrary. Now show us your links to Fed Ex's unfair disadvantage.

It's normal for peaks during the waning days of the election. I'd say that many Fox viewers turned off the tube, turned out the lights, and curled up in the fetal position after the election.

It's the fault of the Right wing morons who gave them the false hope that Romney would have a chance.

What I liked about the election cycle was that MSNBC was keeping with news programming on the weekends, as opposed to their regular programs about being in jail.

I don't understand the fascination with incarceration, but I'm tired of the entire weekend being taken up by these idiotic shows.

I am tired of TV, there is mostly idiocy on it these days. The History Channel is not history any longer! Just ridiculous reality shows! Horrible
