Controversy creates lively conversation, even if it is people who are trying desperately to attack a person rather than the topic. Ad hominems notwithstanding, the reality is I simply found a story on tweble that had a high rating and posted it. Others that I posted using exactly that same criteria are: The one about the weather pictures, I thought about posting one about a lightning storm on Saturn because it had cool pictures but I had already posted the weather one here, one about ACORN, and many others on previous days.

So. While you may not like me doing it, and sometimes the stories are controversial (I admit that I aim at that because starting boring threads that go nowhere kind of sucks), I will probably continue doing it.

Do you know what your post reminds me of? When SR said that I created this site to copy his... He would constantly supply some motive behind my ideas that were associated to what he wanted to believe rather than what was true.

As I said, your silly ad homs notwithstanding, that is pretty much what I did. You are the one who ascribes motives to me that didn't exist. Next time I'll log into Newsboy or some other one, I keep forgetting to do that because I "know" you all are smarter than this but clearly I continually overestimate you.
 
Good thing we have Glenn Beck and Damo making sure (simply in the interest of fairness, of course) that a school fight is reported as a case of vicious racism by some black kids.

I don’t know what world Glenn Beck and Damo live in, but in my world black people are demonized by orders of magnitude more than whitey. I’m sure the Rush Limbaugh show and Fox News ran thousands of stories in the last few years on scary brown migrant workers, inner city crime and crack cocaine wars, and ten billion loops of the scary Reverend Wright.

But, prior to 8 months ago, how many stories do you think Fox News and Rush Limbaugh ran with about white, male corporate CEOs and white robber barons making off with tens of billions from Damo’s and Glenn Beck’s 401(k) accounts? How many stories did Fox News run with, alerting their listeners that crony corporate capitalism, by entrenched rich white interests were about to fuck the nation over…and everyone in it.

Blacks get MORE than their fair share of demonization in the media. And the people that are really fucking us over, on a daily and consistent basis, are roundly ignored by Fox News and Glenn Beck.

A school bus beating? Good work, rightwingers! Way to keep the media honest about the horrifying and ubiquitous problem of black racism!
 
yet none of you hypocrites say a word when people post stories about white racism....nothing to DNC for the rodney king video in this thread, nor topspin's lame attempt to create a distraction thread by CHERRY PICKING some story about white racism.....

I don't think anyone on these forums doubts that blacks have faced far more racism than whites.

Does that make the black racism excusable? I would hope not.

Whether this is cherry-picking or whatever, the fact remains that racism works both ways.

If you are going to condemn one you should condemn the other or stand accused of hypocricy.

I don't know what world you live in, but here I know more people that voted for Obama because he was black, than for any policies they could articulate. 'It's time' for a black president. Guess it didn't matter which, just one would do. That is racism.

Look, the racism of the past was horrible. But claiming that beating up whites is payback is simply bullshit and only continues the cycle.

If its racism its wrong. Period. Trying to justify it now is just as bad as trying to justify it then.

I am also not going to try and justify any racism. When someone posts a story that shows any racism, our responses should be the same.

Mine are. Your responses vary based on the race of the perpetrator.
