Rail workers speak out after Biden forces unions to accept deal: 'He turned his back'

Biden did not turn his back on them. He promised that he would work for sick days a different way. One way is a law guaranteeing sick days to American workers.

I don't agree with the government EVER getting involved in the economy - unless a major, declared war is ongoing.
Because - unlike most of you lot (on both sides)?
I believe in 'FREE ENTERPRISE'.

But the railroad union workers are pretty pathetic themselves to be whining about Biden sending them back to work.
The amount of economic devastation their strike might have caused should be more important to them then getting free coffee on their lunch breaks.

'For months, business groups have been calling on the government to prevent a strike, warning of economic calamity.'

And I do not BEGIN to care what their gripe was.
They have a job.
They don't like it?
Quit it.
Don't hurt hundreds of millions of people and strike because they want 'a nicer, second car for the wife'.
Lazy, selfish pricks.

And if my words offend rail workers or union lovers?

GOOD!!!

Will this mean union workers will not vote for democrats in 2024. I expect union workers will not forget this and I mean all union workers not just railroad workers

The House (290-137) and the Senate (80-15) voted overwhelmingly to stop the strike.
With large, bipartisan support.

It is impossible that Biden OR the Dems can get the full blame for stopping the strike.
Whoever wrote the OP article, appears to be an idiot.

Once again, I DESPISE both parties.

What free enterprise? Our first tariff was in 1789. We have 1250 of them. We have had to bust trust since the 1800s. The natural process for business is to plot and plan ways to maximize profits. That results in collusion, oligopoly, and then monopoly. We have an oligopoly now. Almost every industry is controlled by a small number of companies. Look at cable, cell phones, department stores, grocery stores ETC, We have an illusion of choice. Once we did have a lot of choices. That resulted in price wars, innovation and competition through good service. Those days are long gone.

You are now locked in paradox. You support the strike, but you condemn it at the same time. Which is it, dude??

What free enterprise?
You know...the one around you that you are about to list.
Our first tariff was in 1789. We have 1250 of them. We have had to bust trust since the 1800s.
What is 'bust trust'???!?
The natural process for business is to plot and plan ways to maximize profits.
Yes. Profit is the lifeblood of any business. No profit, eventually no business.
That results in collusion, oligopoly, and then monopoly.
No, it doesn't. Even if a monopoly occurs, it's unstable. It won't last. Sooner, more probably than later, some small startup is going to come along and blow their kneecaps off. The ONLY way a monopoly can continue to be sustained is by government interference.
We have an oligopoly now.
So?
Almost every industry is controlled by a small number of companies.
So?
Look at cable,
There are currently some 450 cable companies across the States.
cell phones,
Again, hundreds of companies manufacturing cell phones.
department stores,
Thousands of different companies.
grocery stores ETC,
There are currently some 63,000 grocery store chains or independents in the States.
We have an illusion of choice.
No illusion.
Once we did have a lot of choices.
You still do.
That resulted in price wars, innovation and competition through good service. Those days are long gone.
A company is successful because it provides a product or service that people want to buy at the agreed upon price. I know you can't seem to get that through your thick head.
