Rand Paul report on inflation, it's going to get worse!

So...instead of answering my questions?

You throw ad hominems and strawman?

Noted.

Another troll on the board...nice to meet you troll # 37.

I didn't use an ad hominem since I didn't say you were wrong because you were an intellectual lightweight. I said you were an intellectual lightweight because instead of arguing the topic you attempt to change it. I have already laid out the case for why you were wrong and you have refused to answer my argument with one of your own. I see no reason to fall for your silly Jr High debate tactics and yet here we are no longer talking about your misstatements on inflation as opposed to one sentence of mine which you insist on taking out of context to try to create an error out of something that a reasonable English speaker would have inferred based on the rest of the post. Whether the word "mostly" is in one sentence or not doesn't change the fact that meaning of "generally" is synonymous with "mostly" which was the actual argument being made and is the argument you are avoiding for some reason.

I didn't use a strawman since that requires that I misstate your position and then proceed to argue against this manufactured opinion. Nowhere in the quoted post did I claim you held a position on anything we had been discussing and since I never claimed you held a certain position I certainly never argued against that position.

You must have been a wiz with stacking blocks when you were in kindergarten. You clearly don't have the logic and language skills to support the claims I've seen you make here. Based on your spatial skills maybe you should take up knitting as a hobby instead of your current one of attempting to troll on the internet. I'll bet you would be great at purl 2.

I skipped all that.

My post was a statement. Not a question.

Jeez...you cannot answer an INCREDIBLY simple question.

Yet you blather on about this?

I am no longer going to answer your questions when you partially quote a post of mine.

Grow up you big crybaby.

You fucked up.

You opened your big mouth, then you tried to alter what your big mouth said, and then you completely forget the argument you've been making.

You're the one who posted this:

Wrong, actually.

The Fed says that the current inflation is no longer 'transitory'.

Have a nice day.

So that's you saying inflation today isn't caused by supply side issues.

That is what you were arguing until it was pointed out to you by a couple people on this thread that you either misinterpreted what Powell said, or you just lied and didn't read the link at all.

I think it's the latter, but I'm open to hearing a case that it's the former....

I didn't change my position on anything. What part of my position on the meaning of the word "generally" do you need clarified? I'm always happy to help out someone with reading problems. Were there specific words you didn't understand? You don't have to get defensive just because you didn't understand something. We all needed to learn things before we understood them.

Powell said that was inflation was generally being caused by supply side issues.

Good to know it's not just me that thinks he's being defensive.

I am not being 'defensive'...I am just trying to get you to answer an INCREDIBLY, simple question.
Which you seem to be having an INCREDIBLE amount of difficulty doing.

Once again...

Here is what I typed that you quoted.

'What I meant was that the inflation causes are now mostly NOT being caused by supply-side problems due to economic recovery from the Covid Depression.
But due to systemic weaknesses brought on by government lockdowns/Covid-19 meddling all over the world.'

So...you are claiming that I said that 'inflation is NOT being caused by supply-side problems'?

True or false?

Let's see if we can get you past this diversion.
In the post in question, I first quoted your exact words.

What I meant was that the inflation causes are now mostly NOT being caused by supply-side problems due to economic recovery from the Covid Depression.
Shortly after I say -
You clearly claim that inflation is NOT being caused by supply-side problems. You do understand the meaning of the word "not", correct?.
I have already quoted you so the fact that my sentence doesn't include mostly could be a problem if it was my only statement. Most readers would have read your complete statement first before reading mine. They would know about the word mostly. If this was the end of my argument then it could be a case of my changing your argument but I am not arguing that you said all instead of mostly. I am arguing that your actual statement that I provided a quote for is false because Powell's use of the word generally shows that inflation is mostly being caused by supply side issues.

Let me correct my statement so we can continue on with the actual discussion.

I should have said.

You clearly claim that inflation is mostly NOT being caused by supply-side problems. You do understand the meaning of the word "not", correct?.

Now perhaps you can deal with the rest of my argument.
Let's compare that to the quotes you used from Powell
'Generally, the higher prices we’re seeing are related to the supply and demand imbalances that can be traced directly back to the pandemic and the reopening of the economy,” he said. “But it’s also the case that price increases have spread much more broadly in the recent few months across the economy, and I think the risk of higher inflation has increased.”
That quote doesn't support your claim. In fact it would seem to indicate your claim to be false. 'Generally, the higher prices we’re seeing are related to the supply and demand imbalances' clearly means that the higher prices are related to the the supply-side issues. That doesn't make it the only reason as evidenced by the rest of his statement. So Powell is saying part of the inflation we are seeing is due to supply side issues but that is not the only factor. "Generally" is a qualifier that would seem to indicate that the majority of the inflation is coming from the supply side issues. Your claim is not supported by Powell unless one completely ignores how the English language is generally interpreted.

Read none of that after the first sentence.
I am not wasting my time on your blather if you cannot even answer the simplest of my questions.

I will try this ONE more time.

If your first word is not either 'true' or 'false'?

I am going to assume that you are just not capable of answering even the most INCREDIBLY, simple question.

And move on.

I assume reading comprehension was not your thing..

We know it's not yours because you wouldn't have posted a link where the Fed Chair told the Senate supply-side issues are the main cause of inflation.

And then you wouldn't have altered that post 4 hours later.

FALSE

In reality I already answered you and you have stated you have refused to read it. Not only did I answer your question, I clarified my statement for those who are at a 10th grade reading level so they would know my sentence wasn't the claim you allege. Do I need to start writing as if you are at the 6th grade reading level?

Then where is your retraction and apology for erroneously stating the following?

'You clearly claim that inflation is NOT being caused by supply-side problems. You do understand the meaning of the word "not", correct?.'

Don't worry...I will not hold my breath waiting for it.

Bye now.

I told you Pol Pot?

No answers to half-ass quotes.

Since you already stated you agree with me on current inflation (that it is NOT transitory).

And you cannot follow the simplest of instructions?

We are done here...for now.

Have a nice day...Pol Pot.

Because you stupidly thought it could be used as a weapon in your ongoing (and pretty pathetic) attempts to shirk responsibility for the pandemic you and your Nazi pals caused by blaming Biden or Democrats or whatever.

You were so sure of it based on the headline alone that you posted it at 6:30AM...but then you changed the post four hours later, after I had already started going after you for it.

In fact, I responded to your post at 9:15AM...then at 10:30AM, you changed the post.

So something must have happened between 9:15 and 10:30 that caused you to go back into your original post and change shit.

So what was it? What prompted you to take that action? It was because I was giving you shit for it, wasn't it? That's why you changed the post around and altered it...because I fucking caught you bullshitting everyone.

See...and you just altered another post!

How many posts have you altered on this thread?

Then where is your retraction and apology for erroneously stating the following?

'You clearly claim that inflation is NOT being caused by supply-side problems. You do understand the meaning of the word "not", correct?.'

Bye now.

Your spatial skills must be so out of this world maybe you should start building sand castles one grain at a time.

Why should I have to apologize for something I didn't claim? I already corrected what I wrote for those that don't have a high enough IQ to understand context. Because you didn't read it is on you, not me.

Meanwhile back at the real discussion:
Your claim about inflation was false and is still false and rather than admit it you want to troll with diversions.

Edited for typo
