Ready to join the NRA

I have never had much interest in guns, even though I am a righty. Never owned a gun, but have been considering buying one during the last several years. I sense the constant threat against my second amendment rights, so I often feel the urge to get set up with guns and ammo while I still can.

Even though I have never, and do not currently own a gun, I have been considering joining the NRA as a first step. My interest in guns and the NRA is not connected to some kind of passion for guns, just a passion for my rights.

the NRA compromises too much. for a non compromise gun rights organization that will stand for your rights, join Gun Owners of America, or GOA.

If you are considering purchasing a weapon, first go to a gun range and talk to some of the shooters there. They can give you advice on what weapon would best suit you for what you intend to use it for.
Many gun clubs offer instructional classes for most types of firearms. Most of those classes are taught by NRA certified instructors.

It is difficult to narrow down what I am really after, since my wants are so broad. The left is pushing really hard against the AR 15, so there is a sense of urgency to get set up with one of those before it is no longer an option. I am not actually into shooting though, so the only purpose of it would be to make sure I have one before I can no longer buy one.

Talking to folks at the range sounds like a good idea.

no one is going to take your guns huh

you know that too

If someone was going to take your guns there would be NO POINT in spending money on one just to have it taken away huh

even you idiots know its a lie

If the AR is what you're considering, go to the rifle range and speak to someone there who is shooting one. Chances are, he has a decent knowledge of it if he's there shooting one. One may even offer you the opportunity to fire a round or two from his/hers. My gun club has a number of very well trained marksmen/women who would take the time to familiarize you with one. I'm sure others do as well.

if you actually think someone is going to take them

why would you waste money buying one just to have it taken away?

because you know its a lie that someone is coming for your guns

WASHINGTON
The FBI is investigating whether a top Russian banker with ties to the Kremlin illegally funneled money to the National Rifle Association to help Donald Trump win the presidency, two sources familiar with the matter have told McClatchy.
FBI counterintelligence investigators have focused on the activities of Alexander Torshin, the deputy governor of Russia’s central bank who is known for his close relationships with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and the NRA, the sources said.
It is illegal to use foreign money to influence federal elections.
