Reality vs. trump supporters

And the ignorance is ALL on the LEFT side of the posters. The lunatic liberals that post on here are just SO hideously brainwashed by our biased media. It's difficult to read the idiotic musings of these mentally challenged ones.
And you are completely brainwashed by your biased media. The right-wing media has been lying to you for decades, but you believe every lie they feed you. That's why you were so easily taken in by Trump.

Hello and welcome ZILCHMONGER,

I have never in my life seen such a bunch of ignorant posters. They continue to support governments whose only agenda is to grow ever larger and hold more and more of them hostage.

Socialism never works, never. It always ends in death and destruction and that is exactly what the "progressive left" wants for this country.

a) Socialism has provided a vital safety net for millions.

b) There is absolutely no reason we have to choose between socialism and capitalism. Capitalism and socialism function very well side by side.

c) Socialism is thriving and functioning in many successful nations today, and it's included government programs are very popular.

d) Please observe my Signature PIP. I mean every word of it.

e) I am happy to discuss any subject with anyone as long as mutual respect is maintained. I hope we have many years of great discussions!

f) The larger that capitalism gets, the larger the corresponding government must become, in order to properly regulate that growing capitalism. They work hand in hand to ensure a successful society.

Socialism does not exist. Every country is a mix. Scandinavian countries have corporations and companies as we do. The people go to work like we do. They have the freedoms we have. The difference is that they allocate their resources differently. They provide healthcare to all citizens and provide safety nets for the people who fall through the cracks. In America, the wealthy control the system and confiscate as much wealth and power that they can without hitting torches and pitchfork levels.

They also have free college and free child care in many cases. Not really free, of course, but at no charge to the user. This is done because society has recognized that it is in the nation's best interest to do these things.

There is no strictly capitalist industrialized nation, either. All industrialized nations have public services that the right calls socialism.

the Repubs have spent generations turning socialism into a scary and foreign designation. It is for the advantage of the wealthy and corporations. They have convinced the Repubs to vote against their own interests for 100 years. I am so afraid of the scary non-existing socialism threat, that I will vote all my power and wealth to the plutocrats. There is nothing scary about universal healthcare and a safety net.

It has been a masterful mass-con culminating in a very irresponsible vote for a rich tax cut exactly when we needed to pay down the debt. Pure greed.

Hmmm, you do realize that countries like England function pretty good using the "democratic socialist" approach, right? If not, then maybe this will enlighten you:

Nope, you are wrong. Sorry to break it to you this way. Only fools think socialism is good for the people, fools or those who believe in a socialistic society they will be among the elite.

I don't ever want to hear from you again. Civil discourse or not, you are not worth my time or effort.

Socialism Didn’t Work In Sweden, And It Won’t Work In America
https://thefederalist.com/2019/06/25/socialism-didnt-work-in-sweden-and-it-wont-work-in-america/

Sweden stood as the world’s fourth wealthiest country nearly five decades ago. Its taxes were lower than most western countries, including the United States. The economy was deregulated, and public spending was hardly above 10 percent gross domestic product (GDP).

But Sweden was soon teetering on the brink of collapse from its experiment with socialism.

“Free markets and small government made Sweden rich,” said Swedish economist and Cato Institute fellow Johan Norberg. “The experiment with socialism crashed us.”

No one guessed the system would crash. The country was ripe for a socialist experiment in the early 1970s. The Swedes were hardworking, optimistic, wealthy, and trusting of their politicians. As programs were implemented in the ’70s and ’80s, public spending almost doubled and labor markets became regulated. The new welfare state, however, appeared to enhance Sweden’s already strong economy with large-scale redistribution and high taxes.

This brief period when socialism seemed to work is the model promoted by Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Norberg said at a The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) event last week. Today, 36 percent of Americans are sympathetic to socialism compared to only 9 percent of Swedes. That’s because Sanders and AOC only point to the 30-year episode of socialism’s artificial success before Sweden crumbled under its reality.

[Related Post: How ‘Democratic Socialism’ Wreaked Havoc On My Native Sweden]

“The problem with these policies is that they began to erode the foundations for a successful society,” Norberg said.

Reversing Sweden’s traditions of small government and an open economy disintegrated its successful business climate. Big companies like IKEA either evaded taxes or left the country. Athletes like Björn Borg and entrepreneurs fled the country. High inflation raged and not a single net job was created in the private sector.

The new generation raised in socialism had no incentives to work. The once healthy population began calling in sick because of the generous benefits for sick days. They shamelessly accepted the public benefits that their hardworking parents once despised.

Sweden not only fell from being the 4th richest country to the 14th richest country, but its very nature as a country changed. An authoritarian-like government was necessary to ensure the population did not abuse its welfare system. Sweden’s democracy was sliding into a dictatorship, and the Swedish people were not pleased.

Nice try on trying to have the last word in a forum where that never happens. Put me on Ignore if you don't want to see my comments.

The challenge our society faces is not a choice between capitalism or socialism. It is how to get the correct balance between the two so that we enjoy the best of both worlds and minimize the downside of each.

Socialism has it's inherent problems and so does capitalism. Neither is ideal without the other, which is why all industrial nations strive to achieve the optimal blend of capitalism and socialism.

This also would be a good time to remember that in the entire history of the USA, and all of our socialist programs, there has never once been a case of a rich man taxed into poverty. Not once. The richest remained the richest even when the top tax rates were over 90%.

Despite the so-called 'high taxes,' the rich have increased their wealth significantly throughout the period they claimed taxing was too high, and the economy has done well despite periods of high taxes.

President Trump signed off on an extremely irresponsible tax give-away to the rich because he couldn't get anything else passed and he had to have some kind of victory. It was irresponsible and they knew it at the time. They claimed the economy would generate enough revenue to pay for itself, but they were wrong. Instead, the debt and the deficit has grown out of control, the deficit now being a trillion.

Our 'great' economy is a house of cards which depends upon running the government on credit, which is not sustainable. We can't borrow a trillion a year to run the government while the rich are paying far too little in taxes to support the country which is making them rich. That cannot last, and it will end badly in a deep recession. Naturally, by then, Trump will be gone and his then dejected supporters will blame the Democrats for the then trashed economy made inevitable by what Trump is doing now.

I am speaking the truth that you don't want hear so I would understand if you place me on Ignore.

Totally incapable of rational discourse. Can only vomit forth the dogma that his masters have shoveled into what little of his brain is left after extensive brainwashing.

Pretty much. He follows my threads/post like a bitch in heat with the same level of right wing wonk willful ignorance and insipid stubbornness. I let him out occasionally to see if there's any improvement. Since there's not, back into the IA bin with the fool.

What I find interesting is how those afflicted with Trump derangement syndrome can call others bias while ignoring quotes from one of the people involved who said there was no quid pro quo aka pressure. They ignore trumps duty to investigate corruption between US officials and Ukraine. They ignore every US official asked if they had direct evidence of a QPQ or bribery said no. They ignore trumps well known desire to eliminate corruption at home and abroad. They ignore the Ukraine court that said Ukraine aided Hillary against trump in the 2016 election. Yet they give only the best intent for their liberal comrades. And sadely they are incapable of understanding that Biden admitted to the quid pro quo making an investigation really not important. He did it on camera.

Wrong; the challenge is between Socialism, and liberty and Capitalism. The two cannot intertwine and those on the left are intolerant of anyone who would want to limit their power over the rest.

We used to be taught, correctly, that Government was a necessary evil and we should never place our faith in it. Today, we see idiots indoctrinated into believing that the socialism offered by the former Party of Racism is the best thing since sliced bread.

I do wish you were educated; really I do.

To paraphrase the words of my favorite sci fi author "Words such as socialist, collectivist, capitalist, monarchy, republic, democracy are insufficient and unnecessary. In truth, the world divides into two camps, those who want to control others and those that don't."
