Russia would want Trump because he's known to be corrupt and he probably owes billions to Russian banks and the Russian mob. Mueller found plenty of evidence, just nothing that amounted to criminal conspiracy. He wouldn't have been allowed to do anything with it if he had found criminal conspiracy. He found plenty of collusion and a fair amount of obstruction of justice.
