Record beef prices raise Memorial Day cookout costs

I suppose for those in inner cities without a number of grocery chains, this is an issue. Ground beef this week was $2.99/lb. I'm not a big fan, but when we have company we'll make meatloaf or chili. I put 10-15 lbs in the freezer.
Porterhouse is on sale for $7.99/lb for Memorial Day. Around Easter I put about 20lbs of rib eye in the freezer for $6.99/lb. I know in some places, ground beef can cost that much.

I often wonder if these articles are ignoring the obvious...that knowing how to shop and planning ahead can trump proof your food budget?

We buy on sale and freeze too. But a lot of ppl don't have that luxury. Ground beef (80/20) here on sale is about $5/lb. Ribeyes are on sale at Meijer this week for $13.99/lb. Some sale, eh? Pork and chicken are a lot more affordable right now than beef is.

People seem to CRY about everything these days. Babies. Literally just got back from picking up more steaks. They were a bit high,...sure,....but not to the point that it should cause people to freak out. You don't wanna pay it? Then dont,...grill chicken, burgers, brats and wienies, lots of choices. Or just buy the steaks and STFU,....that's what I do.... :ROFLMAO:

I'm sure there are many areas with no competing grocery chains. Those areas suffer. Food deserts are a thing

Like their golden idol, Trumpanzees are totally out of touch with the reality that the rest of us live in. Toxic is no exception. The last four years, she was weeping self-righteously about the sad plight of all the poor American families who couldn't afford groceries or Taylor Swift tickets because Biden. But suddenly everything is fine and there are plenty of sales and those same families are stuffing their fridges with great bargains. **eyeroll**

There are plenty of churches, schools, and organizations who help those in need when necessary...

They do here, that's for sure...TDS is real...;) And They don't care much for President Trump, either...;)

Left wingers = Cheap suckers used to extracting funds from others by HOOK or CROOK . If its not free or some kind of "special deal" for " special people" they don't want it. It's who they are,......entitled infants for the most part.

I realize that those exist... But that is not the norm.... But in rhoae areas supplies and prices are always a bit more difficult... That is nothing new...correct?
Correct. Typically in the inner cities. But Teflon is too ignorant to grasp the concept.

I would never pay $16.99 for anything. If I prove that price, or even easier...$7.99 for Porterhouse, will you agree to leave the board forever?

I didn't think so.

Shut the fuck up and stop trying to impress the other morons here.
What a silly notion. It is up to you whether or not you want to prove it. I don't believe you.

You are the one sitting here trying to impress people with your supposed "bargain" shopping prowess. I am telling you that I don't believe that there is any place you can buy ribeyes for $6.99 a pound. Nothing even remotely decent anyway. Even at Costco or Sam's.

Prove it or don't prove it. I don't care either way. Here is something from Kroger that is supposed to be $8.99/lb, but clearly by looking at them, they are thin as shit and probably shit meat. Not even USDA Choice

Now look at this ribeye? Look at the marbling compared to the first link?

If you want to eat shit beef, that is up to you. But, please don't come here pretending you are getting any quality cut of beef such as ribeye for $6.99/lb.

You are dismissed

Again. Put up or shut up.

Leave the board when I prove you wrong. I get rib eye roasts...not shitty meat that you get.

You are really taking this personally.

Yes, I have bought ribeye roasts before and sliced my own ribeyes. Here is a link to Costco. $20/lb for Choice. But, hey if you say you are getting prime cuts for $6.99/lb I believe ya big guy <wink> <wink>. I guess you "know a guy who knows a guy"
