Reid apologizes for 'no Negro dialect' comment

you have completely missed the point......they AREN'T chastising him for using the "out of vogue" term negro.......(interpret "out of vogue" to mean "racist if used by anyone who isn't a Democrat")................this thread seems to have drifted away from the discussion of hypocrisy........

Yes, hypocrisy, the word that best describes anyone who defends the double standard in play. Reid said that Obama is a light skinned no negro dialect candidate...period. Meaning he sits upon his whitey-high-horse and makes such discriminatory judgements of categorizing black American's. The very fact that he projects his discriminatory attitudes on other American's as his excuse is just too damned ironic when his pals defend him. See, all them whitey dems think like he does.

Reid has admitted he should not have said it that way.

The Black community has accepted his appology.

Why did the black community not accept the Lott "explanation".

Maybe it has something to do with these two peoples records on black rights?

What's that again about the Democrat Party's history on race?

Now, I am wondering, what is your "official" position on this? You seem to want to take two very different sides. You challenge Onzies to answer the question regarding what other issues may have also been part of Thurmond's platform...( a point I also made.) But then you do an about-face, and seem to want to take exception with the point I make about how it's illogical to conclude Trent Lott was specifically talking about the sole issue of Thurmond's support for segregation. (essentially the same point you just made!)

idiot

if you had honestly put in the posts after that you would see i didn't know the full context of lott's statements, hence why i NEVER took a stand either way. hence all my questions ??? to onceler. onceler answered them, so i thought i would ask you questions as you had a different view. but instead of honesty, you lash out at me for taking two sides.

i never took a side, so i was asking people about their position. onceler finally backed his up, but you couldn't. when i asked you difficult questions you starting getting all pissed off and accusing me of dishonesty.

if you can't handle people questioning your POV, then why even come on this board?

Clinton is a poor example, he was never charged or admonished for having an extramarital affair with an intern half his age. It was actually his lying under oath to a grand jury, which led to articles of impeachment, contrary to what they told you to believe at the koolaid factory.

If you would care to point out where I said anything about him being charged or admonished, I would be happy to take your post seriously. But until you can (and we both know you can't) its just nonsense.

Lying under oath is serious. But unless your memory is seriously flawed, you will remember that the public outcry started when the news was released, not when he lied.
