Not what I said. Segregation was not ever seen as some magic bullet that would solve all racial problems in America... If it had been, we would have certainly tried it! No one in 1948 thought this, and if anyone had such a baseless idea, they certainly didn't have it after 1964! The point is, I don't believe anyone has EVER thought segregation would make us "better off" as the lefties are claiming Lott meant, and they certainly haven't thought that way since passage of Civil Rights. This is an idea that is nearly a century old, and has been put to rest in our society for 45 years, but the liberals seem to think it is prevalent among current republicans holding public office... it's absurd!
