Humans seem to have arachnophobia by nature.
I don't know why.
I e eventually go to the point I would capture them and release them outside if they were in my house.
Black widows still spook me.
Fear of the unknown is a survival trait. Why do larger animals, even predators, often run from human beings? Survival instinct. There's no calling 911 for help in the jungle. No multiple lives as in a video game. No Obamacare. Critters injured in the wild may end up starving to death or become food for others.
Once a predator recognizes that people are food, that's when they become a threat and are hunted down. Once people learn which spiders are dangerous (black widow and brown recluses) then they lose their fear of the others.
Black widows can kill you, small pets or kids. They should be respected, but not feared. They should also be killed on sight.
