Religions are mostly wrong

Humans seem to have arachnophobia by nature.

I don't know why.

I e eventually go to the point I would capture them and release them outside if they were in my house.

Black widows still spook me.

Fear of the unknown is a survival trait. Why do larger animals, even predators, often run from human beings? Survival instinct. There's no calling 911 for help in the jungle. No multiple lives as in a video game. No Obamacare. Critters injured in the wild may end up starving to death or become food for others.

Once a predator recognizes that people are food, that's when they become a threat and are hunted down. Once people learn which spiders are dangerous (black widow and brown recluses) then they lose their fear of the others.

Black widows can kill you, small pets or kids. They should be respected, but not feared. They should also be killed on sight. :)

Most spiders are harmless, and bees and ants can sting or bite, but I was never creeped out by them.

I just never could figure out why spiders used to creep me out.

I don't try to rescue black widows. I'll leave them alone if they're not in the house, but if indoors they get terminated

Don't be scared of gay people.

The only sex life I am interested in is my own, Jank aka Perry PhD aka Quincunx aka Uhtceare.

The comedy here was you believing you were entitled to mock people's knowledge of art because they hadn't heard of some obscure Finish cartoonist known for sketching homoerotic cartoons of Village People-caricatures marketed for a corner of the gay subculture..

LOL. you don't know much about art. And it GALLS YOU to no end!

Terminate them even outside is my advice. :D

Same for Brown Recluses. There are plenty of other spiders to take their place.

People who use sock puppets and lie about it are lacking integrity, sanity, or both.

The thing that I find hilarious is claiming a superiority of art knowledge because they have been admiring the obscure homoerotic cartoons of Finland Tom

Can't help your homophobia I suppose. You seem to "classify" art in to gay and straight

I know very little about entomology, but on the surface black widows seem to occupy a specific ecological niche that might not readily be replaced by other spiders. Widows like to build their webs low to the ground in dark places, like in woodpiles. I always check for them if I am chopping up wood!

So do lions, tigers and bears, but I don't want them in my yard. After a stern warning to leave, my next step is to neutralize the threat. :)

Wrong again, Jank PhD.

The gay artists Tchaikovsky and Donatello are on my top ten list for musical and visual arts.

I just don't like cartoons of anyone with their hands down in their crotch, whether it's male or female.

The male body can be studied as an art form in a way Donatello understood, and the cartoonist Tom of Finland didn't.

Worrying about whether something is art or not is a pretty useless category.
A child's scribbles can be art. A drawing by Rembrandt can be art. Clearly that explains nothing.

My comment was always that Jank aka Uhtceare felt entitled to mock people's supposed lack of art knowledge because they hadn't heard of the cartoonist Tom of Finland. There are probably people with art history bachelor's degrees who haven't heard of Tom of Finland, because his cartoons aren't considered particularly good or important by the vast majority of people who study art for a living.

Call Tom Findland art. My point is, what is that supposed to establish?

"Russia emerges as Europe's most God-believing nation"

Two decades after the collapse of the USSR, history's most atheistic state, the vast majority of Russians attest to a belief in God – more than in any other European country – according to a new opinion poll. The survey, carried out in April by the independent Public Opinion Fund (FOM), found that 82 percent of Russians say they are religious believers, while just 13 percent say they do not believe in any deity

Statistics seem to show the less organized religion, the bigger per cent of believers.

Are you assuming that from the article or do you have other data?

Going by a single nation, especially the former leading communist nation on the planet, is not good science. Better to study other nations too.
