I have said repeatedly that I'm armchair QB'ing this, and given him the benefit of the doubt because it was so split second - but after watching that footage from every angle, in no way did he need to shoot her to protect his life or get himself out of harm's way. He would have done that better by moving back further from the car.

He was trigger happy. For whatever reason, he saw that as the 1st option - and it actually put the whole street in a more dangerous situation, as evidenced by the car careening out of control after she was shot.
