The costs were sky high and unaffordable before the subsidies. That's why people had to have insurance. No one can afford half a mil for a hospital stay.
Of course. The only reason providers are able to stay in business accepting the rates Medicare and Medicaid pays is because those paying full freight keep them afloat.

They, at least, tripled after the subsidies. They did not become more affordable. Like every other government program, leftists think that if the government pays more than you did by several hundred percent it's "free".
