And if the allegation that this was held, by both sides, for a period of time, though for different reasons, proves true what would you say?

The instant messages that were lewd and crude could have been kept from Hastert...? He still had the other emails, which were red flags and he should have pursued it further..... but he may not have seen the lewd emails/instant messengers....

Liberals are not of the same mindset as conservatives and had the shoe been on the other foot, I think you'd see a substantial decrease in support. For example, immediately following 9/11 Bush had 90% of our support. The dems and liberals are definitely capable of putting partisanship aside for the greater good.

9/11 was an attack on our Country .. Paris Hilton could have gotten 90% of the peoples support if she were President.

Im not going to sit here and defend Bush... because I dont support his record. I will say that if there was a Democrat in office ..using your same outline(rhetoric)...yes... there would still be 30% give or take a few points that would blindly support him/her..... and especially the Party.

I would say they were both wrong and likely criminally wrong...!

But that is not the evidence. The evidence is that the Republicans have known for months and sat on it failing to share it with the Democrats on the ethics committee!
 
Lets face it.. Foley is a scum bag and anyone who knew of his activities are scum bags as well and should be run out of office ... there is no defense nor any excuse ......

And I'm asking you what you're basing that on? Do you have some sort proof? I say of a different mindset because as exampled with Lieberman, dems and liberals are more likely to hold their congressman accountable for bad decisions. I say a different mindset because I've seen dems and liberals en mass put partisan politics aside and give support when support was needed. You haven't provided any examples of why you feel that the dems would still support a candidate at 33% with that kind of record. If it came out your a$$, just say so. We're all entitled to our opinions, but I ask that you not present it as fact when you have nothing to back it up.
