I recognize that real change will only come from the real left .. not the center (democrats) and not the right (republicans).

By change you certainly mean the destruction of personal freedoms and the casual dismissal of everything that intellectuals of the western world have carefully put in place for the last several hundred years since the enlightenment? If the real left ever gets control of the political powers of the world and we will enter a dark age.

That said, it is obvious to me that for the good of the Republican Party what they wish is for Obama's plan to work just bad enough that it costs the Dems the next election or so while working good enough so that they wont have to actually come up with the solutions themselves.

But anyone in this thread wishing to say that Republicans are somehow more prone to mustache-twirlingly evil politics than the Democrats is quite obviously someone who would rather pick a political side than actually discuss the issues or actually learn anything.
