Republicans just do not tip well

All the wait staff I know who have worked political events tell me the same thing, Republicans barely tip. It is even worse if you are not white. A Black bartender is not going to get much in tips working a Republican event.

And we have all heard how skimpy trump tips. If 4 waiters are working 4 hours on a table, they are working in a state with federal tipping minimum wages, and trump tips $20, that wait staff just got $3.38 an hour.

Well here are a few others:
"Is Marco Rubio a celebrity? He never looks up from his phone and tips 0-5%. Pre-pandemic he was a regular, but most of the servers refused to serve him."
"Dick Cheney tips like shit."
"Tucker Carlson tips 8%"

Wow, does that mean more of us can be left begging for tips? And you think that is a good thing?

You still do not get what the trick is. They will keep promising you a "huge tip" in the future, and you will keep working like a maniac, until one day they will find someone new to promise a "huge tip" in the future to. We want to be moving more people off $2.13 an hour plus tips, not more people onto it.

The new trick is to try to convert us all to tipped workers. An employer will tell you that they will tip you after the fact, and then you will not have to pay taxes. That will become the new, "you will get a big pay raise", which in turn was the new, "you will get a big bonus." It is a scam.

It is a crime that people in America are being paid $2.13 an hour, and expected to live off begging for tips. The idea that system should be expanded is an insult to working people.

I know of no waitresses that make only $2.13 an hour, and they never beg for anything. You are so full of shit!

You know what would be REALLY cool? IF EMPLOYERS FUCKING PAID THEIR EMPLOYEES A LIVABLE WAGE without asking the customers to make up the difference.

If you can't pay your employees a livable wage then it isn't a business....it is your personal hobby you are asking OTHER PEOPLE to pay for.

Let's get rid of tipping altogether. VAST SWATHS OF THE DEVELOPED WORLD EXIST WITHOUT TIPPING.

Quite frankly, I despise and hate the whole tipping culture. I really wish it would just disappear. It's so much nicer in other countries where that shit isn't practiced. Just pay the wait staff a decent wage and blow off the whole tip thing completely.

I find it disgusting that I go to an upscale restaurant and pay say, $150-200 for the meal and am expected to fork out another $30 or $40 bucks in a tip. That's nothing short of absurd, especially since I know the wait staff gets paid well above minimum wage to work there.

more leftist propaganda.........I don't believe that tipping generosity is decided along political ideology. I've seen way too many liberal college students barely tip, unless they're the ones also working service positions.

I like paying for good service. I had more than my share of Tommy Boy moments when I had to talk the person tending bar into opening the kitchen to make me and my friends something to eat. Those days made me feel human.

In the Middle East and Asia, the culture is that good service is expected and something you deliver as a worker to your customers because that's what you do. You don't pay extra for it. Tipping is seen as unnecessary, wrong, and even insulting there.

Federal tipped minimum wage is $2.13 an hour, and then they hopefully get tips beyond that. When people refuse to tip them, they are living on $2.13 an hour.

In theory, they can ask to get the remaining $5.12 an hour to make full minimum wage, but they are also allowed to be fired for asking for that.

If you pay people a living wage, they do not have to beg for tips just to make ends meet.

$2.13 is not a living wage in the USA. If we stop tipping, there is no one in America willing to work for $2.13 an hour.

You are laboring under a common misconception. The wait staff just about everywhere gets tipped minimum wage, which is federally $2.13 an hour. There are a few very low end places that will bump up that salary, but the high end places will not. The reason they work at a high end place is the tips are great.

When you skimp on the tips, you steal their ability to make a living. If you do not like having to pay tips, argue for a higher tipped minimum wage. Do not expect perfect service for $2.13 an hour.

And always remember that they are spitting in your food. You steal from them, and they spit in your food. That is the way of the world.

Would you tip someone who is spitting in your food? lol And if Republicans don't tip well, don't work those events... You're always complaining about something that either doesn't exist at all..or is an easy fix...
