Republicans must move past Trump for sake of the party's future – and the nation's

there was massive voter fraud. ballot stuffing mostly.

Bogus. Complete rubbish. Bullshit.

Former Attorney General William Barr, in testimony to the January 6 committee, testified that he repeatedly told Trump his election fraud claims were false, that the DoJ had examined them and found they were without merit, based on complete misinformation. He told Trump the claims were "bullshit" and the "idiotic" Dominion claims were crazy stuff which did a grave disservice to the country. “If he really believes this, he has become detached from reality," Barr told the committee.

Former Deputy Attorney General Richard Donoghue testified that the DoJ looked at Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Nevada, and found none of the claims had any foundation. As Trump was told each claim was false, he would move on quickly to another claim. “It was like playing whack-a-mole.”

Former US Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, BJay Pak, testified that Barr asked him to investigate the alleged "suitcase of ballots" at the State Farm arena, in a video pushed by Rudy Giuliani. Pak found it was actually a lockbox for storing official ballots. Giuliani was, to put it politely, mistaken.

Rep. Zoe Lofgren cited the 61 court cases the Trump campaign lost when litigating their election claims, quoting judges who described the claims as "gossip and innuendo unsupported by evidence", "a fundamental and obvious misreading of the constitution", and “a coup in search of a legal theory.”

Why does Trump persist in this make-believe and show no sign of stopping, despite the obvious fact that it divides and potentially damages the country? Does it show strength of character and patriotism? Does it vindicate the trust of Trump’s followers? Does it make America great again? What?

Donald Trump, for more than six years, has dominated the Republican Party – dictating its positions on policy, rewarding his loyalists and punishing dissenters. Today, more than 20 months after the former president begrudgingly left the White House, the Grand Old Party remains largely under Trump's control.

Trump's leadership has produced mixed results for Republicans and conservatives. The Trump wave, particularly in swing states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, undoubtedly pushed the red tide to new heights in 2016.

In 2017, after Trump's upset victory over Hillary Clinton the previous November, Republicans held more power on the federal and state levels combined than at any point in nearly a century.

Trump's political strength waned quickly, however. Republicans lost the House in 2018, and two years later, voters rejected Trump's bid for a second term and gave Democrats control of the Senate.

Republicans favored to win House

In a month, aft the midterm elections are complete, America’s political landscape could look dramatically different once again. Republicans are favored to gain control of the U.S. House of Representatives and might capture a Senate majority, rendering President Joe Biden the lamest of ducks with more than two years left in his term.

But what would Republicans want to do with all of that power? How would a Republican legislative agenda confront the nation’s biggest challenges? What is the future of conservatism in the United States? What does it even mean to be a conservative in 2022?

Short version:

Republicans need a hard lurch to the Left and become more like Democrats...

fuck barr.

there is no way to reconstruct what happened with massive mystery ballots.

:truestory:

just admit you don't want secure elections.

Republicans are precluding America from having a future.

If we were a modern democracy, which we most certainly are not, the old-school Democrats like Biden would be our far-right party, and a truly modern, progressive party would be the champion for liberal initiatives.

The prominence of our Republican Party clearly illustrated how we've transformed America into a huge banana republic.

There was a clear case of attempted massive fraud in Georgia. Trump tried to get the Georgia Secretary of State (R) to "find" him enough votes to win the state.
But Raffensperger wouldn't do it.

How do you feel about that?

If that's true than you voting for the moron means you accept all brandon says does and represents as a lying racist child groping imbecile.

Not even close, I do support much of what Biden does, but if he were tomorrow to say “he loves grabbing pussies,” or that Republicans “were traitors” to America, or that an election was fixed and offer zero proof of his accusations, or lies daily, often twice a day, to American citizens, or plots to ignore the Constitution, or encourages storming the US Capitol, or uses his office for personal gain, etc., then I would not vote nor support Biden

:okjen:

You got it backwards pal. It's your party who downplays and refuses to hold trump accountable for his crimes. All you do is run cover for criminals and racists. What do you tell yourself to get yourself to sleep at night you evil, authoritarian fucknut?

What crimes? :rofl2:

In my heart of hearts, save for the few nuts in the Republican party, most of these Trump followers could give a rats fuck about Trump. If Trump was to die today, they'd throw a party. What they fear the most, it isn't Trump. Donald Trump is nothing but a white trash hustler, the GOP politicians FEAR THE TRUMP FOLLOWERS! Trump has managed to dig deep into the trenches of every shit ho hovel, every trailer park and cave that these lost pathetic white folks thrive and use these poor white bastards as his own personal Mafia gang. He know these crazed hillbilly white fucks with their arsenal of weapons are just itching to put blacks and Latino's in their place and he uses that anger to his advantage. Without these crazed white fucks, Trump would still be trying to hustle some poor slob out of his dough. it won't be until his so called peeps, them white motherfuckers are put on notice and dealt with, will his reign of terror ends with his party.
