“Anyone getting on the Republican national committee debate stage should be able to say, ‘I will support the will of the voters and the eventual nominee of our party,’” she added.

Bash went on to play a recent Donald Trump interview clip in which the former president indicated to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt that he was unsure whether he would support the eventual GOP nominee if it wasn’t him.

“It would have to depend on who the nominee was,” said Trump, who announced himself as a 2024 candidate in the fall.

Responding to that clip, McDaniel said, “I think they’re all going to sign” the loyalty pledge.

She added: “I really do. I think President Trump would like to be on the debate stage.

I didn't think McDaniel/Romney was going to be chair any longer. In any event - I don't think trump will be the nominee.

I have supported the nominee of my party for my entire adult life,
and to my recollection,
I can't remember said nominee having EVER been my choice in a Democratic primary.
My primary choice never gets nominated because I'm really a social democrat, not a traditional, mainstream one,

I know that such looks like blind loyalty if not submissive compliance,
but remember this:

the nominee's principal opponent has always been a republican.

I can't recall my party having ever nominated a candidate as intolerable as the republican nominee.
Certainly not in MY adult lifetime.

Loyalty oaths are always a bad idea. I said that I am open to becoming a R again (have not been since 1983)....but I tend to doubt that it will happen.

Asking elementary schoolers to take the "Pledge of Allegiance" that they don't even understand is also a bad idea, but nobody has the balls to say it.

The fact that requiring students to do the pledge has been illegal since West Virginia V. Barnette 1943 supports my point.

Trump will sign the loyalty oath but then not support the candidate because the nomination was "rigged" against him.

Trump would sign then break his word if he lost the nomination.

He will switch to an "I" when he loses the nomination, splitting the GOP vote and will take the party down. trump doesn't care about the GOP, trump only cares about trump.
