I agree with you, I have trouble recognizing the country I was raised in.
Trump commuting Stone’s sentence was a no-brainer. Stone broke a law ‘because there was an investigation’. Think about that: sans Mullet, Stone was a crank—but a law abiding crank, nonetheless. It’s not like Mullet ‘saved the country from a rampaging criminal’. Stone’s ‘crime’ consisted of being associated with Donald Trump.
We all know that’s why Mullet was after him. Mullet was leaving no stone unturned in his desperate attempt to prove that the Trump campaign conspired with the Russians. Mullet’s modus operandi was to ‘get them to lie’ then pressure them into spilling the Russian beans on Trump.
Like Manafort, Flynn and the rest—turns out Roger Stone had no Russian tales to tell. What the Mullet investigation turned out to be was a very expensive quest to prop-up what amounts to a garden variety conspiracy theory about Putin helping Trump win the election.
By all means, Roger Stone’s sentence should be commuted.
You had warnings....but not enough because too few who knew better would speak....and what you had you ignored if you are anywhere near normal.
